Sean Morrison: 'Cardiff City showed real character in Charlton Athletic win'

Cardiff City defender Sean Morrison has suggested that his side's comeback win over Charlton Athletic highlights the fighting spirit among the squad.

The Bluebirds climbed back into the Championship playoff zone thanks to a 2-1 victory in South Wales on Saturday afternoon.

Having fallen behind to Karlan Ahearne-Grant's first senior goal, City recovered well to claim all three points through two second-half goals of their own.

Morrison, who proved to be the matchwinner on the day, claims that his side fully deserved their win - a first in three outings - in front of their supporters.

"We've done that more than once now and it shows the kind of group we have," he is quoted as saying by Wales Online. "There is a lot of depth, a lot of character. The manager has put together a quality squad. He inherited a lot of players, but has got the group fighting for each other.

"At 1-0 down it looked as though we had given ourselves a tough job, but we managed to come out on top. I felt we were the better team throughout and deserved the points.

"When you lose two matches, as we did against Hull and Rotherham, it's important to react in the right way and bounce back. That's what we did and if we keep ticking over, winning at home and doing what we are doing away then we'll make progress and be in and around things."

Cardiff head to league leaders Brighton & Hove Albion in their final match before the upcoming two-week hiatus.

Morrison was at fault for Charlton's goal.

Having said that Manga was at fault when he came on v Hull. Connolly by far the most consistent.Manga will return when we falter, but I've got a feeling that Connolly will lose his place.

I agree that eventually Manga will replace Connolly if he plays badly but think Morrison is the one who should be replaced. It'll be interesting who Slade's picks when Turner is fully fit.I'd like to see 3 at the back with wing backs but can't see that happening.

He needs to improve his defending I prefer Bruno or Turner.

I agree with this but I don't think that Morrison is awful.

------- Morrison Manga Connolly

Fabio ----------------------------------Malone

-------- Dikgachoi Whitts

-------------- Ralls

--------- Mason Jones

Would be interesting to see Pilkington as a wing back, but think he would end up being too attacking.

Switch ralls and whitts and I would go with that to see how it worked :sladein: :bluescarf: :bluebird:
