What does the future hold for David Marshall?
TP: I wouldn’t be surprised if West Brom make another bid to sign Marshall in January. City must be ready to find a replacement if that happens and the Premier League club succeed with the £5m-plus fee that would be demanded. City owner Vincent Tan stood firm when Albion came calling in the last transfer window, but Slade was ready to move for a replacement if the worst had happened and knew the man he wanted.
There is no doubt Cardiff want Marshall to stay, but they must be ready if he wants to play Premier League football now.
Simon Moore is excellent back-up and did well against Charlton, particularly with one save low down. He didn’t have that much to do, but stayed focused over the 90 minutes.
Ben Wilson, too, is a young keeper with huge potential, but if Marshall did move on Slade would want to bring in an experienced, top quality replacement.
