Cardiff City defender Lee Peltier is a doubt for Saturday's match against Charlton.

The ex Liverpool right back, who has been a regular this season, suffered a dead leg during the win against Huddersfield two weeks ago and is still having treatment for swelling.

Manager Russell Slade said: “He had a bang a couple of games ago and although he got through the game at Rotherham, there’s swelling and we’re working on it.

“It’s not too serious but whether he makes Saturday is in doubt.”

Slade said Scott Malone could come in at left back while Fabio could switch to right back, if Peltier is missing.

He said: “Peltier is a doubt for the game but we’ve got the bodies if it happens.”

Good, not a fan of Peltier

Awful news.

He's about the only proper defender we have in the back 4 at the moment.

Love Fabio's workrate/passion/attacking threat but his positional sense defensively is non existent.

Morrison can just not defend, full stop.

And I really like Connolly, he's been outstanding this season and made some crucial blocks, but I'd say he's more of a ball playing CB, and not so much your "put your body on the line" type.

Peltier is a warrior and has been one of our best players this season, you very rarely see a chance made from down his side, it's always from the left.

Just hope we are not to exposed when going forward.

He's been exactly what we needed, solid up for it and defends well! Won't set world alight but good pro

I want to see more of Malone , he seems to have come on a lot since last season, I wonder if he could play in midfield on the left ?

I just think Malone with confidence could be a huge asset.

Peltier does a certain job but if you want a team to perform I think we need more from the fullbacks going froward especially with the wide players generally tucking in and Dikgacoi holding. I felt against Huddersfield the team dynamic change as soon as he went off. In this day and age I think fullbacks have to do more than Peltier does.

Can't disagree with that, Malone was on fire but Fabio has kept him out, Always room for a Peltier in any team or squad as he brings a difference not with footballing ability but other attributes

For me Peltier is a good squad player, no more.

If Fabio is happy to switch, it's an option. :thumbright:

Disagree with most of this. Peltier is our worst player by far.
