If Whittingham, Ralls, Fabio and Malone are all allowed to get further forward, the Bluebirds could afford to drop one of their strikers a bit deeper.
The most obvious set-up seems to be Kenwyne Jones playing furthest forward with somebody like Joe Mason or Sammy Ameobi dropping deep.
Kenwyne Jones is the man of the moment at Cardiff City
Either way, work rate would be key for a team that played this far forward and they would have to defend with energy from the front.
If Kenwyne loses a header or Ameobi gets caught making the wrong run, they would have to work doubly hard to win the ball back or at least pressure the opponents out of counter attacks.
In conclusion, Slade has some mouthwatering options in his squad if he did choose to change his system but he would have to make sure flair players like of Kenwyne Jones and Fabio were well aware of their defensive duties, the moment the ball was lost.

I f he plays Mason in a deeper role it would take him half hour with his pace to back jones up

Ameobi in the deeper role makes sense. He has pace and is more dangerous given freedom to roam.

I can't wait for Saadi to come in.
