' Wayne Nash plucking random figure '

Thu Sep 24, 2015 4:27 pm

Correct me if I'm wrong on the figure but I've read the club have quoted it would cost 20k a game if we swapped canton and family stand. But on what exactly?

A few extra stewards and for high risk games larger segregation/ nets on the seats and a few extra coppers.

The entrance gates will still be fully separated and outside the ground would be no difference whatsoever.

They are living in a different world if they think it's guna kick off in the ground with even minor precautions. I thought statistically we had one of the best behaved home fans in the league?

I feel it's a random figure thrown out to shut fans up.

Would you like the ends to swap?

What you got to bear in mind football games are managed by police on overtime basis! So won't take a lot to average out at 20k per match ! :o

Christ alive how much are coppers on these days?

Even an extra 10 coppers on £100 AN HOUR for 6 hours would be £6000 and that I would think is a massive over estimation... So where's the extra £14000 being spent? A few stewards...

That's the figure £20,000 a match max would cost us, Nash told me this about 5 months ago.

116/117(last season) are near the away fans and you barely hear a dicky bird from them. Another myth i am afraid. Just more gesticulating young and old men across a net....

Police Horses, helicopters, extra vans and bikes for SWP to overly charge us for, times are hard you know.

Our stadium was designed to keep opposing fans far far away from each other. Yes we have changed and CCTV is king now but we do have idiots and so do the away fans.

Like the return to blue, the swapping of the ends wouldn't do much to improve the atmoshere

Disagree. Swapping the ends would in my opinion see the return of many fans who yearn for the old Grange End and the banter and the atmosphere that we created at Ninian Park. We are currently watching football in a sterile, soulless stadium and it's no wonder the players don't feel inspired. Change the ends, get the atmosphere crackling and passionate again. Then we can be the 12th man and lift our team. If it stays as it is currently watch even more fans get disillusioned and walk away.

Would it 'cost' as in a one off payment £20k, or is it £20k per game?

Tony, max per game, but would reduce if there was no serious disorder and for me with our ccfc and banning orders it would be dealt with quickly if there was.
Fans would be mad to cause disorder nowadays.

It is hard to see how it would cost an extra £20k even if we were playing the Jacks. Which end is the singing section really shouldn't affect the Policing bill and I don't put any faith in those figures, that said we shouldn't need to change ends to up the anti atmosphere wise that can be done for nothing, if we put our minds to it.

That's what I thought Tony, but I think Wayne thought by saying that to me,I would give up on
the idea

I still believe that changing ends will get the whole ground rocking and nothing will change my beliefs on that :ayatollah:

For now let's see how the new ideas work and I really hope they do as we need atmosphere ASAP big time :ayatollah:

Why would they need police horses and helicopters? NOTHING would change outside the ground.

We're just talking a few extra stewards and police inside the ground for certain games, that's it! Untill someone gives a sensible answer of how it would cost 20k per game then to me, it's just more bullshit.

We're talking millions here. Better off getting a flag.
A really big flag.

By changing ends this will get the atmospher going In our sterile soulless library of a ground. The Jacks ground is rocking every home game, why ? Because they place the away fans right in the middle of two singing sections of Jacks, who are only two rows from each other with a minimum of segregation. With CCTV in grounds now, fans just won't risk going over the top :bluebird:

Hang on though Al, joking aside they will be there whether the away end was next to the singing section or the family stand.
Therefore the only increased costs would be inside.

My club has died since we moved to this poor atmosphere stadium.
Wayne Nash and cronies are talking bollocks.
Our camera system is supposed to be amazing so what's the problem with some netting and a few extra stewards on just over minimum wage.
Why quote police figures when police would not be required.
I've jacked my season ticket because of this after all these years.
I've now promised myself 4 games a year.

Re: ' Wayne Nash plucking random figure '

Fri Sep 25, 2015 9:53 pm

Swapping the family and singing stand is the only way the atmosphere is going to improve in my eyes. It's the only answer. The last time the atmosphere was consistently decent was back when they actually let us stand in 117 in the Ninian next to the away fans 5 years ago.

Re: ' Wayne Nash plucking random figure '

Fri Sep 25, 2015 10:22 pm

But we generate no atmosphere from the side next to the away fans from the Ninians stand so I don't get this logic.

People are hanging onto this like the return to blue like it's an easy solution, everyone said bringing back blue would improve atmosphere and it did for a game or so. It's not thd biggest problem its getting people back not moving people. Then when then fans are back then you add the initiatives and create the atmosphere.

It all seems ass backwards to me, get the fans and let them make the atmosphere.
Season prices were all wrong and this is the issue.
