" REAL PASSION IS WHAT MATTERS/ NOT A FAKE ATMOSPHERE? "

My strong strong beliefs :thumbright:

You can put your flags up,your drums banging, your cheer leaders on and a juke box jury, but you will never beat banter and songs coming from your heart, that's for me the only way to get our ground rocking and that's my belief after visiting over 360 odd grounds and more than 2,000 City games home and away.

Why not swop ends for one season only? Try it out,we have 33,000 seats, if you don't try,you will never know? :thumbright:

Talk to players like Jason Perry, Andy Legg,Kav, Phil Dwyer etc etc they will tell you the same, how passionate City fans use to be,without all this franchise stuff.

Our club needs to realise this :ayatollah:

It's exciting football and a genuine belief in the team's prospects that generate an atmosphere, not American style gimmicks.

Where are all of those fans now then? The one's making the excuses. Can claim they did Halifax and Cambridge, so and so but won't turn up to a second tier game because of a manager.

Over the last 4 years our own club has driven a lot of hardcore fans away.
By the way I went to all those night games at places like Halifax,Rochdale,Hartlepool etc :thumbright:

Did you?

Something is not right. We have had far worse football at City and worse managers but even when Sam was there and improved things the average was 10 to 13000 but they all sang and made us the 12th man at home.

We use to go down the city and we would get beat by Newport 0-3 but we would still keep the amosphere going I can not see why the atmosphere is low it is not the stadium as we all been down on a Wales night and we have had big games with City the stadium is fine.

I do not believe it is the stewards to affect so many maybe a few I really can not see why but I will say well done to the Club for trying to get the atmosphere and supporters back

No I didn't considering I wasn't even born for some of them. As a young fan I've had it good, but I'll be here to stick through the hard times as well. Didn't get to hard for me having to settle for mid table last season and probably again this year. The club are continuing to try to work on the damage they did but it's not helped if you put down the ideas. Modern football has changed, so flags and banners ARE going to work. Back in the days of old days, wages were closer to what the fans earned and they even travelled with some fans, it's different now. I think we have 1922, who is a Lech Poznan fan and a Belgrade fan on here as well, not to mention a few Sarajevo fans, I'd like to see how they'd react if you said their pyrotechnics, their banners and flags didn't work etc. :ayatollah: :bluescarf:

Well then it's easy to say about those places like Halifax, without actually going to them week after week and less than 100 fans following City and once only 11 of at Gillingham.
The last 15 years, for me has seen nothing but success on the pitch compared to those days, yet in 2 years we've lost 12,000 plus season ticket holders

I'm not saying you won't go to those places, but don't have ago at those that did :ayatollah:

Bart is the the 1922 fan on here and he is stunned and shocked on how bad it's become.
Those clubs you mention also have smoke bombs and flares etc etc and that's illegal in the UK, so most of that goes with the flags etc, I've been to those Countries.

Yes I agree we have to start some where, but I stand by my honest and strong feelings.

I want the atmosphere to improve ASAP,but I just don't believe this will work, why not swop ends for one season only? Try it out,we have 33,000 seats. If u don't try,u will never know :thumbright:

If I am wrong and the crowds now go up after every home game and the atmosphere improves week after week,I will be the first to hold my hands up and say I was wrong :thumbright: :ayatollah:

Your right, something really is wrong, because we have had great atmospheres years ago with a lot lower crowds.

I agree 100 per cent. Try it for one season. You only need a few extra stewards there. The extra money spent on stewards would be pennies compared to the extra fans that would turn up for the atmosphere.
Put simply, the club are trying to pull the wool over the fans eyes by stating that they are listening to the fans but clearly THEY ARE NOT...
My club had died since we left the terraces behind.

I think a lot of fans have only known the good times when we were pushing for promotion or getting to cup finals, and now see an average second tier side. Finishing mid table at this level was once a distant dream for a lot of us, and we were able to celebrate just by staying in the league, or by getting promotion out of the bottom division, even though we ended back there again. Because we were'nt used to success, we did'nt get too down when things were going badly, we were used to the regular struggles and fights against relegation. Older fans are being replaced by the new generation who expect us to be successful every season, and it could be that reality is setting in, and that fans have to accept that following Cardiff over a long period usually involves more downs than ups. Supporters need to realise that the last 10 years have not been the norm for this club, and maybe we all need to appreciate being at this current level, it could be much worse.

In my opinion its still makes a contribution to the atmosphere Annis and also the reason why its a problem is because a lot of fans haven't forgiven tan or not willing to give Slade or the team a chance but I know it will get better over time. :thumbright:

Exactly, slightly bigger segregation if they are worried a few extra stewards and for high risk games a few extra police.

I reckon a trial end swap is a good idea. Some people say things like why do you need to be able to eyeball and intimidate away fans to try and create an atmosphere, but it's not that, they've missed the point. The singing banter goes back and forth and tends to get louder and more people then get involved, then you have an atmosphere again! Even the fans in the ninian might give it a go you never know. :o fans enjoy a bit of banter, the days of trouble are long gone so that's not relevant either. Noise doesn't equal trouble does it??

Remember we live in an age of instant gratification, young people almost demand it.The older fans will not return many have had enough of overpriced everything , albeit a beer, hotdogs, tickets. They will say they are tired of grown men rolling around in feigned agony holding their faces whilst demanding weekly salaries that a lot of fans do not earn in a year of graft.I really do not believe this is a CCFC problem; it is a more widespread malaise among the older football fans. Banging drums and cheerleaders
spare me please , why don't the FA split the games in four quarters, sing cheesy American songs and have done with it!

Good point you make about the atmosphere, you are correct, we are crap but because of that you can never hear the away supporters either, the atmosphere is pathetic from both sets of supporters.
