We spoke to Charlton Athletic fan John Taylor about this weekends game, here’s his view….
1) It’s been abit of a mixed start to the season so far and you find yourselves 3 points from the playoffs but also 3 points from the relegation zone. What are your views on Charlton’s season so far?
After a great start we seem to have hit the buffers. Having beat the teams expected to be up there we have now had some poor results against the bottom three but that’s Charlton for you.
2) How happy are you with the recruitment of new players in the summer?
We have signed some good players and given some our best currents players new contracts but our squad is still too thin and that is coming back to bite us on the backside already.
3) Manager Guy Luzon has been in charge now since January. How do you rate him?
I’m not fully won over. There is no doubt that our style of football is much better under him but his lack of experience in championship football is still an issue.
4) Charlton Athletic have a sofa at the side of the pitch at The Valley for certain fans to watch the game in close proximity and in comfort, how’s that gone down with other fans and do they lob food at them?
Totally embarrassing. Good idea about the food though. I’d rather through our pies than eat them !
5) If you could take one player from the Cardiff City squad, who would it be?
We are desperate for an attacking winger so we would take Craig Noone off your hands.
6) As an outsider, what are your views on Cardiff City?
They have been disappointing since dropping out of the Premier league but the nonsense with your owner can’t have helped. Another championship side geared up for top flight football. ( along with 15 or so others!)
7) What player(s) in the Charlton team should Cardiff City fans be worried about facing this weekend?
Johann Berg Gudmundsson our Icelandic wizard. He has a dream of a left foot and if there are any setting pieces outside the box – watch out.
8) Describe Cardiff fans in three words.
Blue , Blue and Blue
9) Will you be making the trip to Cardiff?
Ordinarily i would but i have tickets to a little rugby game going on at Twickeham on Saturday night . Come on England !
10) What’s your prediction for the game?
I’m going for a Desmond. 2-2
