Atmosphere at stadium..Can you help??????

Mon Sep 21, 2015 11:11 am

' Tonight Monday September 21 '

Meeting at the Eddie may Bar for improving the atmosphere, filling the ground, pre-match and half time entertainment and many more will be moved to the captains lounge as there are so many good suggestions we want to make sure they are all discussed, and do not impact on the supporters using the Eddie May bar prior to the development kick off. We will still meet In the Eddie May bar at 5.30pm then move straight into the Captains lounge.

There is going to be a good turnout from a cross section of all fans. We are really positive about the ideas coming forward and together we can make this work.

Can't wait Tomorrow starts a new day in the History of Cardiff City FC thank you to everyone ideas and those attending the meeting. If you do intend coming please text me 07814 779441 or inbox me due to the positive response we need to make sure it isn't over subscribed

This is a message off Vince, if you want to go along call him Today....without changing ends try to think of things that will help

So swapping the Canton with the Grange End is a definite no/no? :(

It will be interesting to see the suggestions and results.
I can't imagine much else working besides the change of ends. Maybe the drums but I don't think so.
Still, it's worth the meeting to try to be positive.

Shame Annis because I think this would have really ignited the atmosphere and without this I can't see the lost thousands returning. Hope I am wrong tho! Teza

Without changing ends not much point.. The only other thing is to get our team to warm up in front of the family stand and in front the kids that come to see them instead of an empty stand

My boy used to love the players warming up espeacially the shooting practise in front of us in the Canton Stand at Ninian Park.Perhaps its not quite the atmosphere people are looking for but it used to get the little ones excited and in the ground early!
Swap the the stands over!!!!

Lads.
You've got to look at alternatives as well as this change ends issue.

It can't be done ' mid season ' anyway.

Good luck to the guys tonight.

I can't make it tonight but hope that cheap tickets for under 25s for the Canton, free blue scarves and loads of free/ very cheap kids tickets, are included, plus pressure to reduce overall season tickets for next year.

Vouchers for cheap beer/ club shop for those who use their season tickets for every game as well.

Adverts and fixture lists in Gol centre and Powerleague which have thousands of football fans go through them every week.

Same for schools with players visiting and giving out free tickets as rewards for good behaviour /attendance

Also maybe an open section of 'free seating ' in the Canton where singers can congregate.
So you don't get say seat d112, you just get a ticket for Block 100 and can sit where you want in there- like away games

I just hope they don't come out with 'goal' music to try to create an artificial atmosphere.
I'll put up with most things but personally that'll send me crazy! Cheesy and embarrassing in my opinion.

Change ends is really the only answer apart from filling the stadium.

Bigger away allocations may help, I imagine 6k Leeds fans would create a great atmos.

Well there won't be much music as there aren't many goals mate!

Like you Tim , I couldn`t attend last night (too early to get away from work , especially at fairly short notice to rearrange things) , but well done to Vince and others who organised it and have started the debate on what should and will be done.
The problem will always be though that , in a group of say 20 CCFC fans there is likely to be at least 15 different opinions on what should be done and to get a concensus is almost impossible.

I agree with your suggestions , but would also add a campaign to attract university students to games by offering them , say , books of 5 vouchers to attend games at cheap rates. I think Cardiff has about 40,000 full time university students during term time and even attracting a very small percentage of these to games would add a fair bit to attendances. Also , lots of post graduates stay in Cardiff after they finish Uni. so a potential long term fan potential if they can be persuaded to get into the habit af attending games now.
