Just found out I'm not working on the 3rd, so thinking about heading down to this one.

Was at Rotherham but giving Brighton a miss. It's a shame because it's a good away, travelodge etc are silly money. Tuc conference there I think.

Brighton has always been expensive for accommodation.

Re: Brighton away

Not sure why it's so expensive for Citys away weekend. It's not a conference of any kind. I can usually book up quite cheaply. Pity because I like Brighton.

Spent a few hours last night looking for somewhere and found something called Wayne's Place in town for £55.

Brighton does seem to be really expensive, I'm going too BUT booked a night in Horsham instead (around 50% cheaper) with decent pubs and restaurants.

If any of you didn't know the Amex tickets cover the cost of public transport in a fairly extensive area from Brighton City Centre (and a sizeable area North, South, East and West of the ground) either by train or bus to and from the ground.

Hayward heath to the North.

What's the transport like in and out of the ground is it quick and easy or busy and lot of hanging around was thinking was it easier to get taxi with 6 of us?

When you're 3 down at half time then it'll be ghost town for away fans but if it isn't then there's a 20 minute wait. Away fans are welcome to venture into the home stands for drinks at the end and watch the monitors for train times which allow you to leave instead of queueing for the trains.

The transport system has improved over the years.

Yeah I have, they said ring a day or two before the game and they will arrange duplicate tkts and give to stewards for me to collect on the day, happened at Ipswich last season, but they sorted it to be fair .
