Cardiff City: Bruno Manga, Scott Malone, Sammy Ameobi and Craig Noone are the players closest for a recall, but I can’t see Russell Slade making any changes.

The one proviso is that Matt Connolly, who went off against Hull at half-time because he was unwell, is feeling better. He did some light training on Thursday and is in the 20-man squad.

If Connoly doesn’t make it Manga would step in alongside Sean Morrison.

Rotherham: Captain Lee Frecklington was ruled out in midweek because of a calf injury, but Rotherham hope he will be available for the home clash with Cardiff.

If Frecklington fails a fitness test it will be Wales international Danny Collins who takes the armband.

Vadis Odjidja-Ofoe or Aidan White could then take over from Frecklington in midfield.

For me time for Ameobi, and Manga , Malone , Gunnar to return but I suspect it will be the usual 442 lineup trying to grind out a result

Thats a very difficult question but I would like a little more mobility in certain areas of the pitch

The bottom line is I feel we are still a couple of players short to sustain a serious promotion challenge

yeah i feel the same, and also that 442 probably isnt the best way to go around things long term - though i dont see Slade changing.

I personally would like to see Ameobi given a go alongside Jones, rather than instead of him, and possibly noone for pilkington/ manga for morrison.

Cant see any way into the side for Gunnarsson though.

I would like to have a look at Gunnar in a more forward role, driving forward from midfield . I feel its a position we have lacked since we lost Jordon Mutch

I think dropping Gunnar has made us a better side. The midfield were never capable of dropping to get the ball off the defence. Dikagcoi was a missing link certainly.
I think fans see what they want to see sometimes. Calling for Morrison to be dropped but won't notice that manga was asleep when hull scored their second goal. If morrison had done it i think fans would have gone mad. That was a superb performance Tuesday night and I think I'd start the same team. Bringing on the flair players later on seems to be working well for us. It's a plan B which fans claim we never had before.

If there were no mistakes there would be a lot less goals but if if you have a potent forward line you can afford to ship a few.

U believe that do u? Peltiers back pass at qpr that wasn't needed and resulted in them scoring off a corner? The handball by qpr when they scored the second? Moores error v Fulham? Cleans sheets v wolves and Huddersfield.

I just think morrison is the new scapegoat. He wasn't good at all last year and I understand that. I wouldn't even say he's been exceptional this year (I think connolly has been) but I morrison hasn't done that bad, come on mun. Manga is better all round than him of course but I'm not into dropping people when the team is doing well as it sends the wrong message. Only my opinion of course.

no scapegoat at all. not from me anyway, facts are facts.

Peltier did give away a corner needlessly, but you still have to defend it, and morrison twice lost him man, just like he did against forest, and just like he did against blackburn.

he also should have been responsible for giving away a penalty against huddersfield (at 0-0) how the ref didnt give it is anyones guess.
