" Joe Ledley CCFC "

City never ever contacted Ledley himself despite all the strong rumours.
Ledleys agent was approached, but was told straight, that Ledley would not consider coming back to Cardiff whilst they are in the Championship as he feels he can still do a good job in the Premier League.

At this moment in time Ledley is still a Crystal Palace player.

He may have to rethink his stance on the Championship if no prem teams come knocking, big year next year with Wales and he needs to be playing!

He needs to be playing

I think he may look at a big championship club in January, only if one is in the running for promotion :bluebird:

With Ralls playing so well I'm not sure we need him.

Sounds like we're "not good enough" for Joe Ledley, then! ;)

Well, he thought that previously and that is why personally I don't want him back at any time; because it will simply be to 'wind down' his career and effectively further insult those fans who once supported him hugely at Cardiff City FC!

Those ITK will remind me that Joe originally left for partly 'non-footballing' reasons, which would be correct and I would simply retort that there are 'ways of doing things properly' ;)

Pulis wants him at WBA but I don't think that Albion will agree to anywhere near Palace's asking fee , but Joe like ALL current Wales squad members need to be playing regular 1st team football . Be it Prem or Championship level .

according to a source very close to Joe, he is owed a large sum of money by Palace for staying in the Premier League and won't be going anywhere until that is also sorted ;-)

dont really believe thats the case.

If he is contractually owed money then him leaving wouldnt make a difference

Totally agree with this. We spent a small fortune paying for his hip operation, then he rewarded us by winding down his contract to jump to Celtic. That move showed Ledley up as being a mercenary lacking ambition. I'm convinced if Ledley knuckled down and continued playing at a decent level, he would have continued improving and been a Premiership regular for a mid table team by now. Unfortunately, he moved to play in a lesser standard league, purely for financial greed and never hit the heights he probably should have.

Very well said. Strange that we appear to be the only three on here who can see Ledley for what he is. and of course not forgetting what he did to us.

Just like all the other rumours throughout the Summer where nearly every player in the UK was coming here. I don't think there was the remotest chance of him returning, other than when he is virtually at the very end of his career.

Ross, I note (quoting Deano1): "according to a source very close to Joe, he is owed a large sum of money by Palace for staying in the Premier League and won't be going anywhere until that is also sorted"

I'm shocked and I'm surprised! :o  :laughing6: :laughing6:

Note (for the Joe supporters): I've no doubt Joe is 'owed' the money, but this just won't help his 'mercenary' image and we know his Agent is only interested in one thing...£££££'s

A pauper he is most certainly not and this can't be good for his Wales career in an important season! ;)

Thanks

TBH, I'm neither on one side to t'other. My only interest is the well-being of Cardiff City FC and people will either agree or disagree ;)

Hmmmm, let me think...wasting away (albeit on a lot of money ;) ) with the Stripey Nigels or keeping up his game time elsewhere and enhancing his Wales chances, possibly until Christmas when Pulis will likely take him to West Brom

Christ indeed, fella! ;) :(

He could go to Brighton or Boro, and help keep them at the top of the championship until he goes to WBA in January. This way it would help his Welsh appearences :bluebird:

He certainly could (Brighton would be ideal demographically) and it certainly would help both him and Wales

But it looks like he won't; at least until Pulis or someone else comes in for him at Christmas or Palarse 'pay up' :(

££££££££££££££££££££'s

West Brom is realistically the only club that might take him with Pulis there. I suppose a promoted club might, but it has to be Pulis who knows him well
