Our lack of a class striker....

Wed Sep 16, 2015 12:47 pm

Our lack of a 20 goal a season striker will cost us a top 6 place this season.

This is something we've been missing for a long time.

I think a real class striker will cost us automatic promotion, but the team does have goals in them. We do look a solid outfit, but the biggest bug for me is a ball carrying midfield. Some one to drive up the middle and feed it through to Mason etc

Our centre mid is a bit static

Nows to time to dip into the loan market and pull off a coupe... Frazier would be perfect playing alongside Jones

Definitely agree with this. The way things are shaping up we are a goalscorer away from being potentially a top 2 team. Jones or mason miss too many chances and neither are deadly enough infront of goal.

Agree Frazer would be awesome

The supply to our front two is bloody awful. Until Ameobi came on last night Fabio was the only one trying to get to the bye line and put some crosses in. He's a left back!!

Get these 2 in and I would fancy us for automatic promotion.

While it's obvious that a cutting edge is lacking, you can't moderate the spending of the club and still get in a goal merchant. Those are the most expensive players and even a loan would be pricey in wages and possibly cause unrest in the changing room, especially if the new addition doesn't score straightaway.

Why can't the training be stepped up in this area? The defence looks more solid these days and although mf is a bit less assured, encouraging shot taking and confidence can only be a good thing.

Some people are just better finishers/players than others. A few extra shooting sessions isn't guna get mason an extra ten goals.

Mason has 3 goals in 7 games.

Multiply that over the season he won't be far off 20 goals.

We are just going to have to wait until Saadi is fit to play. :thumbright: :sladein: :ayatollah:

While I agree that you can't make a silk purse out of a sow's ear, I don't think this is the case here. If we are all accepting that RS can't get the goals with this side, there is no hope.

Surely you're not saying he should ignore the gaping hole in attack just because some think the forwards are shit!?

Target practice! Good enough for Bale, good enough for anyone.

I have always disagreed with 'playing to your strengths' on the training ground. Remedial work should be paramount if things aren't quite right. And they aren't quite right.

Personally i cant wait for saadi to be fit and play. I think he is gonna be a great signing and could turn out to be the class striker were missing.

Why would we need a French ice cream or model of car (a coupe)? I can`t see how that would improve the team at all.

Slade, was told if he sold Marshall or Kenwyne Jones, they would of finally made obey available for one.
We sold No players, Slade got No money and we got an injured French dub 2 player.

Good I'm glad. We are trying to clear the debt aren't we? Squad is good enough as it is.

Good goalscoring record.
Capped for france u16 u17 u18 u19 scoring goals at youth level there also so must have something about him.
Described as having pace power physical presence and technically good so that sounds promising.

As well as a free scoring striker,we also neeed an attacking midfield player(someone explain the concept of that to Slade)
