' IMPRESSIVE PERFORMANCE BUT IT WASN'T ENOUGH '

Full Time - Cardiff City 0-2 Hull

Attendance tonight - 13,763 including 347 Hull fans.

Impressive performance but it wasn't enough our unbeaten run has gone but onwards & upwards! Rotherham away next.

First Half :ayatollah:

Cardiff City impressed in all areas in the first half and attacked with great style, but somehow went into the break 0-1 down as a rebound fell to Diame who finished from close range to give the visitors the lead.

Dikgacoi hit the post early on and Kenwyne Jones was also caused a lot of problems in attack for the home side.

Fabio had some treatment for a cut to his head - but it was nothing too serious thankfully.

City also had a few penalty shouts turned down by the referee.

Whittingham came close to finding an equaliser for the Bluebirds before the break, but his 25-yard effort was held by Hull keeper McGregor.

David Marshall also made a few decent saves for City.

City didn't deserved to be 0-1 down but were just missing some urgency in the final third.

But the signs were good going into the break - we were losing but playing the best we've played all season.

Second Half :ayatollah:

Bruno Manga replaced Connolly at the break.

City started the second half the way they finished the first as Dikgacoi headed a Peter Whittingham cross just over the bar.

City had another penalty shout turned down for handball.

Manga had a good effort which went just wide, City were once again dominating and were in full control but just missing a hint of good fortune.

63 min - Second change: Anthony Pilkington replaced by Sammy Ameobi.

78 min - Final City change: Craig Noone replacing Joe Ralls.

Hull had two good chances once from Aluko as he used his pace to break but fired just wide and then Clucas tried a little dink over Marshall but the keeper saved.

And on the 80th minute - Hull scored a second. Abel Hernandez with a well timed run and finish. Very Harsh on a well organized Cardiff City.

4 minutes of added time at CCS, Peltier was booked late on.

Brilliant performance Mason :ayatollah:
But I believe the Ref and our lack of creativity in front of their goal cost us big time.

yes , for all our possession , I'm struggling to think of a save we forced Mcgregor into making .
And sadly I really don't think Joe Mason is good enough at this level I watched him alot tonight and he offers nothing , he's very weak on the ball gets bullied off it and lacks pace, he's just a passanger.
Was a battling performance though we never gave up I don't mind losing if we never give up at least we had a go

Some good build up but jones and mason just didnt gel and I dont think they look a partnership going forward. Good patient football until the second goal and a top performances by fabio and connelly first half. A little tweak is all we need and I wouldnt panic at the moment but we looked a little toothless up top

Terrible in the final third.

Totally agree. Afraid Slade picked the wrong team to beat their threeman centrebacks. Ameobi had to play from the start....instead of Kenwyne, who did nothing in the air against that dominance and is static.
