The Gaffer says 'let's see where we are after 12 games'

Football 24/7

Russell Slade is quietly going about his business and has taken City to 2nd in the Championship after a third straight victory.

Russell Slade said
"We're clearly pleased with three wins and three draws at the start of the season.
"We've got some stability at the club and I could see at the end of last season there were signs of progress.
"But let's see where we are after 12 games because that's when you've got a quarter of your games out of the way and things start to settle down.
"It took a while to get some element of control of this game against resolute opposition.
"The impact Sammy made was excellent and he had a hand in getting us the goals. After that we settled down and were comfortable enough.
"At times we were a bit sloppy and the fine detail was not quite where we have been in recent weeks, but we had enough belief to get the result.
"We are looking solid and difficult to break down as well as creating chances."

In all fairness to Slade he may be quietly and gracefully shoving our words back down our throat.

Huge reservations about him remain but I have a great deal of respect for the way he has gone about his business.

Even the football is much better than the hoofball we were used to last year.

Jury is still out but signs are good and I will be happy to lunch on my own words come May if we are on for promotion.

agree with you on this I don't think the most blindly optomistic bluebirds would have expected the change in football style compared to last year. I think it will be more after 20 games where the table starts settling and the bigger spending teams become more in the mix as they find their best 11
