City have a strong bench and Slade has options... :thumbright: :ayatollah:

He turned to Ameobi against Huddersfield and some fans booed as Jones went off, but it worked. Ameobi played a part in both goals.

Slade could have turned to Craig Noone or Alex Revell to pep up his attack.

There are those who will say Revell isn’t the right player for Cardiff and I understand their views, but he’s a guy who will run through brick walls for the Bluebirds and has scored a couple of magnificent goals for the team.

The key is that City’s squad is a tight group now - and Revell is part of that.

Slade may still add a loan signing – Manchester United’s James Wilson is a possibility – and could strengthen in the January transfer window.

Nathan Blake: I still believe Cardiff City will finish around eighth... but I hope Russell Slade proves me wrong

It could be some time before Slade wins over the doubters, but nobody can deny City have made a decent start and the drab football of 2014-15 season has turned into a fluent, flowing playing style.

The Bluebirds are well worth watching right now – and there is a belief among players that they can sustain a challenge.
