Ok lets try and do something about the atmosphere at home games; I don't want to lose the spontaneity of football chanting but we do need to get some ideas and momentum to encourage more chanting and singing at home games after a few seasons of negativity.
For those who genuinely want to improve the atmosphere at the stadium and support the team and management NO MATTER WHAT please contact me either through the supporters club office at the forthcoming Hull city home match or text me on the supporters club mobile 07814 779441; I will arrange a get together down the Ground WC 21st September early one evening. We can then pool ideas and set up future meetings to implement the agreed ideas.
For starters following topics
New songs
Flag designs
pre-match entertainment
You will have the full backing of the supporters club and the football club will also assist. this is a real opportunity for you to improve the atmosphere. Blank canvas

I was never a big fan of the drums but it worked for the Wales international so maybe we should give that another bash!!

Need to get all the singers in one place not spread out around the Stadium as they are currently. It works away from home. Also the Club seriously needs to look at this and do whatever is possible to promote it. Needs to be a more lenient approach to standing because in my experience you only get singers when they are allowed to stand just like when we go away.

Fairplay to Vince.
The problem is that we will never recreate great atmospheres as fans not allowed to stand like the old bob bank terracing. Our club too strict on letting our fans stand and sing by the away fans..
This is a massive reason why we have so many missing fans, who used to attend just for the atmosphere, but well done Vince for attempting this.

Well it's the same rules for Wales and Cardiff re standing so we can't use that excuse. Can I just say why have we got the game on the tv's in the concourse? Fed up of seeing people Watching it on tv during the game.

Well done Vince, Gish more of our fans were like you. Plenty around to arrange a protest but when it comes to rallying the fans to support the team , mmmm

Agree with this 100%. I had some guys around me leave for the concourse at around 33 minutes into the first half, this past weekend. Absolutely rediculous. Also a pain in the ass when we do have large crowds and people want to get down early for their halftime beers - miss loads of the game just letting people go past me.
Drums in the Canton would seem like an obvious quick addition to the match day experience too, and generate some noise.

The drums were a huge pain in the as*, HOWEVER on dull games it definately worked to raise the tempo and atmosphere so would def welcome it back.....
Also agree about the standing, more of the stadium needs to be standing - this is the only thing that creates atmosphere. You watch games on tv and Im always amazed how many clubs have standing in more than a couple of blocks than we have. It wasnt so long ago we were talking about the possibility of bringing back terraces for the lower parts of the stands - this would def work a treat!!!
And yes, all this walking off to get beers 10 minutes before 1/2 time watching the game on the tv's is nonsense.

I remember a few season ago we had drummers who were stood on a scaffolding platform at the back of the Canton end and was absolutely rocking, albeit we did have better crowds then. I would suggest one main singing section with the same old topic of it being next to the away end

There is no right or wrong way
At the moment with atmosphere a bit (a lot) flat at times - then the drums would work as would a couple of trumpets etc.
I noticed over the last couple of games - only at the very very end does the chant go up for Slade to do the ayotolla.
Success brings excitement and that in turns eventually brings back support.
What the club should do is swap the canton and family stand - seeing those Huddserfield fans on there own about 20 metres from anyone - meant there was no banter or piss taking. Think back to Ninian Park - the away fans in the Grange end - surrounded by the nutters next door and the posh nutters from F block - made for a great atmosphere

Totally agree lets have our Grange End back and then watch the fans return. We would have a passionate , loud vocal support then defo!

Need to have the section in the canton where people can stand.
Good luck to him!
I don't live in Wales so can't attend meetings but will support what they do on match days.

Another thing that would be positive and raise spirits. Chuck a huge blue blanket over those red seats. It's a reminder of our negative past. They did it last year. They put red covering over empty seats but it was red.

First of all, you will never please everyone - some want loud banter, some want a sandwich and a pair of slippers
But, being a football match we need that excitement back and there is one main problem which is.. The singers are too spread out and you may have a set of 3 or 4 sat around the prawn brigade who think you have just landed from Mars for supporting the team vocally, this attitude puts people off I suppose.
Second is the acoustics are bad and yes it may not be too bad when the whole stadium is bouncing, which is rare. You can hardly hear the away fans from the Canton stand which kills the banter which kills the atmosphere. (Forget Wales games as that is completely different)
Need the walk up crowd back at reasonable prices and more flexibility with where you can sit, so you can be around different mates who sing for example.
In my opinion, unless we can hear the away fans and vice versa, the atmosphere will always be rubbish

To my knowledge the Club has never contacted any of the supporters who have not renewed to ask them why they don't go anymore?
There maybe so called glory hunters in the total but there will be many more who have supported for years and don't go anymore.
Lack of PR and strategy would have clarified that instead of the cock sure attitude the club have adopted.
You can use all the gimmicks you can think of to attract people however unless you find the root cause of why people stopped going you will never address the problem. For such a big business not to identify that just shows how arrogant they are.

Very simple easy to do but not even thought of it, great idea and thinking about it very obvious! You should post this

Unrestricted seating in some sections would help.
Half the Canton to the first two sections in the Ninian sit anywhere if you have bought an unrestricted seat may help.

Firstly, well done to Vincent for trying to lead this initiative.
Secondly , well done to some of the senior people at the club who have tasked themselves with carrying out the recent charm offensive to try and have closer contact with remaining fans.
But it should be remembered that both of the above are really just to try and prevent a further fall off in attendances or stabilise them at current levels at least. Not a criticism as these are actions to be welcomed, but the bigger problem is to bring back as many as possible of the fans who have stopped coming to games which , at about 50% of those who came to the Premier games only two seasons ago, is over double Mr Tan's level that he stated was an acceptable level that he didn't care about as he believed they would be replaced anyway.
Without replacing a large number of the lost fans it will be very difficult for the club to cut costs further to make it financially viable in the future without a drop in quality on the field ( especially when the parachute payments reduce and then disappear).
Clearly the rebrand and the way it was imposed was not the only reason why fans walked away and became disillusioned with the club and felt so unwanted. The quality of football , the relegation back to the Championship , the apparent lack of ambition shown with the choice of manager etc would also have been factors. And , again to be fair to the directors, they don't even have the option available to them of publicly stating that the rebrand was a disaster , both financially and morally, and was very badly instigated and handled at the time. Clearly no apology for such a faux pas (an open admission of the mistakes by the owner might bring back a number of fans in the belief that he has learned from those mistakes and won't repeat them in the future) is not within their power to give. Perhaps even an official statement by the owner that the club will continue to play in blue as long as he is in charge would go some way to restoring an element of trust (my recollection of the return to blue meeting and the statement that followed is that the promise to play in blue was only limited to the end of last season and the whole of this season, not beyond that).
If all fans' groups can work with the club on initiatives to bring back the fans that have been lost and the club actually listens to and acts on positive ideas put forward, then everyone will benefit. There will be no quick fixes as the damage done in the past was both serious and with long lasting implications ( someone who has been giving you a good kicking for no valid reason then decides to stop is unlikely to become your friend for a very long time).
Hopefully the current initiative, as discussed by various fans groups at their recent meeting with the club, will develop and expand.

All been said on here before - the reason alot have stopped going, is because the stadium is devoid of any character, or in other words - shit.
The designer never had to explain why it turned out like that, but everyone was told it would be 'fantastic', when a more precise description would be 'fantrocious'.
