Watering the pitch

Sun Sep 13, 2015 11:06 am

Did anyone else notice how overwatered the pich was in the first half? Players slipping all over the place and the pitch started cutting up quite badly. Luckily the sun was out and it managed to dry out by the second half!

Apparently it was exactly the same in the wales isreal game too.

Yes and previous games why do it when it could just as well cost us a goal?

we want to pass the ball, and have no pace in the team so a quick pitch helps us especially against long ball teams as the ball doesn't hold it skips away...

You do realise that too much water on the pitch slows the ball down and stops it skipping away!

Looking at the various matches on the box this week-end, I was struck by the quality of the pitches. Thought that on Saturday ours looked slightly less than perfect.

Did you form that opinion from watching us on the box?

Its not water logged..... Its very firm underneath.

When they started hitting long straight balls in the last 10 mins the ball skipped away every time. One time connolly looked in trouble but as soon as it bounced it flew over the byline.

Now look at the artist that is Whitts, he hits his long ball with so much back spin it counters the quick pitch, but he is used to our conditions.

I always wondered if Malky turning off the sprinklers coincided with Whitts downturn in the promotion season ? Never understood why he did that.

We defended the Canton Stand end in the first half and it was most certainly watered. My season ticket is just to the Canton End side of the half way line and I witnessed that end being watered just before kick off. All my friends and myself could not understand the extent of the watering considering the amount of rain that had fallen during the previous evening.

Bang on. You know what's going to happen with the freak. Building up his multi proifiles before trying to ruin the MB. No other mb wants the odd'un as he's just strange. The mods need to get rid of his new multis (wilsthireblue/whitecock/whereami) before he drives users away again.
