" LACKLUSTRE FIRST HALF, TO CITY MAKING A SECOND HALF "

My View/Opinion

First half felt like a pre-season warm up, to making a second half a comfortable win and 3 valuable points :ayatollah:
As City continue there march up the table :ayatollah:

But where are the fans?

CARDIFF CITY 2 HUDDERSFIELD TOWN 0 :thumbright: :thumbright:

City now 2nd in the League viewtopic.php?f=2&t=145418 :ayatollah:

13,715 Crowd :o

Marshall Peltier Fabio Connolly Plikington Dikgacoi whittingham Ralls Jones and Mason
Subs Moore Ameobi Malone Manger Gunnarson Noone Revell

City went in to this game undefeated in the League and full of confidence after back to back wins against Wolves and Forest,
whilst Huddersfield were yet to find a win in their opening 5 games, and find themselves in the relegation zone

Crowd hardly raised their voices

With in the first couple of mins Mason put the ball through for Kenwyne Jones who's shot was well saved.

18mins Peltier off injured, replaced by Scott Malone.

First 45mins City had more of the possession but did little with it :shock

City 53% incl 2 shots on target
Hudders 47% incl 0 shots on target

Half-time City 0 Huddersfield 0

56mins Kenwyne was one on one with Hudds goalie and missed a great chance.

58ins shocked Slade took off Kenwyne  replaced by Ameobi.

67 mins Hudders could of got a penalty, thankfully not given and with in a min Pilkighton scored 1-0 City :ayatollah: :ayatollah:

77 mins 2-0 Joe Mason :ayatollah: :ayatollah:

85mins Gunnerson off for Mason

CITY 2 HUDDERSFIELD 0 :thumbright:

City did not have to go in to second gear to win this.

That's 3 wins on the bounce :thumbright:

My man of the match JOE RALLS much improved :thumbright:

Up next Hull City home this Tuesday night :thumbright:

Sounds like not the best, but a professional victory, average of 2 points per game now :ayatollah:

Good win I thought it was going to be a draw in the first half but we stuck in there and got a valuable 3 points and great sub by Slade for Ameobi who made the difference and my MOTM Connolly and Well done Slade. :thumbright: :sladein: :sladein: :ayatollah:

Yes not the best, but a good 3pts that's what mattered :ayatollah:

Expected a win, got a win. Job done.

Better use of subs, and clearly half time talk was of some use.

Feeling quietly confident.

Work sorted. I'll be back on a 1/2 season ticket after Xmas. :bluescarf:

Slade proved us wrong :thumbright:

First half was the typical international break hangover, so no surprises there. Huddersfield clearly came to frustrate us too, and for me showed no desire to win, just came to be tightly organised.

To be fair to them, they pressed high and stopped us playing football early on. Was very clear that an injection of pace and some proper through balls would kill them, glad Slade finally saw that too.

Decent win, and perhaps a sign of how teams are going to behave when they come to us, given our good record so far.

Really disappointed with the quality of the pitch mind. Did not look good at all.

Ameobi changed the game, even though I thought Jones should of stayed on, but hey Slade got the 3pts :ayatollah:

What annoyed me is that is was clear Hudds was poor and just kept it simple, yet they did make one or two good chances. Cardiff seemed like the away time, slow and not commiting much.

Glad Sammi come on, finally someone who like to run with the ball and a bit of skill.

Pilks is a key player, if nothing happening on the wing he will come in and make himself available and not doing anything silly and keep simple football.

Trouble with Whits and Dika in the middle we lack that someone to take the ball up and thread through balls from the middle which is what i think Mason wants.

Doesn't matter what Mason wants. He's offside far too often, so it's a bloody good job we aren't putting the ball through to him more. He's not good enough to lead us on a promotion charge, and I see no way that he could change my opinion on that.

It took us 30 minutes to get going today and then we had a good 10 minute spell. They were all over first half without really threatening. Lucky not to concede a penalty but Ameobi changed the game when he came on. Still, we kept going and deserved the win at the end of a boring game
Ameobi must start on Tuesday surely.

Yes fair comments as for a long period of the first half it was like a friendly.

Ffs amoebi was blowing and out on his feet after 15 minutes ,he is not ready to start yet ,why change our plan while it's working ,it's a squad not an eleven :sladein: :bluescarf: :bluebird:

Nonsense, he went on a couple of long runs after the first 15 minutes. Start your best players and bring in Manga for Morrison.

Good report Annis. Always good to see what the fans think at matches where I can't go myself, like today. Find it tells you more than the match reports from the media.

Looking forward to seeing it for myself again on Tuesday :ayatollah:

First half was bit like last season poor football, boring etc. I was saying to my lad at half time. We need to inject some pace and fluid movement and that I would bring on Sammy for Mason. As I feel mason not pacey enough and needs 4 or 5 chances to get 1. However Amoebi for Jones worked really well with Sammy giving the direct running and pace needed :ayatollah: but I feel although Sammy turned the game personally I felt Connolly was mom a outstanding performance from him :ayatollah: :bluebird:
