You're deluded and haven't learnt from history.

More austerity over the next 5 years will push people back to Labour.
Appeals to emotion by the left will also push people to Labour who want to get more for themselves.
He will sure up the votes of minorities with no problem whatsoever due to his stance on foreign policy and immigration.
He is the best chance of winning back votes in Scotland and Wales. He is the only candidate who can take votes from the SNP and Plaid Cymru in these countries also.
There is no certainty that the Tories will have a likeable candidate to put forward for 2020.
He is creating a movement for the youth in the country, many of whom will be eligible to vote come 2020.
He offers a real alternative to disgusting corporate loving neoliberalism and the monopolies control.

The more the Tories write them off the better chance they stand to be honest.

Time will tell :old:

Seems like old labour rhetoric but when they ever get in power they ALWAYS feck it up.

Used to vote Labour - NEVER again

I lost a lot of faith in politics after the assisted dying bill yesterday.

Just emphasised how little this is a democracy. MPs not even caring about their constituents.

When we go around the middle east demanding they implement our sham of a system

Gained tens of thousands new members for the party, but mostly the types they kicked out in the late 80's..

Love a lot of his policies although we need to pay for them and as a duel working family i am concerned that burden will fall to me and i just ain't having that....

We are a centre right country. Principles are fine and dandy but at the end of the day we vote on the economy and how we see it affecting us.....

I was backing Burnham, but will support Corbyn.

Very stupid to say it's a good day for the Tories. Corbyn will be tough and stick to his beliefs, unlike Miliband. He will be no pushover for Cameron.

Labour managed to win 3 general elections because they won the centre battle over the Conservatives. The Conservatives took for granted the centre was theirs but underestimated Blair and his character which basically won Labour the day. However he and his cronies did what the Tories had done and let it go to their heads. Blair had to go and the Labour hopes Brown would attract the disenchanted Blairites. That failed and the Conservatives got back in.

Why Labour went for Ed instead of Dave is beyond me. Now they are paying for it and to me have let the lefties back in. It is a gamble for them if they think they can win the British public by basically going back to socialist policies. As you say time will tell.

People like D miliband because he would look good as a leader.

The times followed him in his current job, running a charity and meeting loads of big whigs in new york. Came across as pretty average.

David would have lost that election by more than ed.

Corbyn on the face of it is the best thing that can happen to the conservatives but in reality it's a bad result for them. Corbyn has won this election with a landslide, he's smashed the rest of the field from absolutely nowhere. He only got on the ballet because labour MPs wanted to widen the debate.

Whose to say he won't do this come 2020, if he manages to inspire the 13 to 17 years olds now they will vote for him, he will inspire those who are disengaged with politics. I think come election time he will galvanise large sections of the public and there will be huge momentum behind him.

That's coming from a UKIP voter who loathes labour.

It's true unfortunately. He wants to end the engagement with ISIS. Cut military spending even more and leave NATO. The man will weaken our country more than this shitty government has. I'm not voting Labour next election with him in charge. Purely cause our military needs more funding.

The thicko's in Wales still continue to vote Labour because historically they're Mothers/Fathers voted for them, but what have they done for us ???

Re: Corbyn Wins.....

Sun Sep 13, 2015 8:11 am

i love it when politico's muse on 60% of the vote..... This is bit of a captive audience.

He got about 220,000 votes

The tories got 11,334,576 in the last election bout 2,000,000 more than labour....

Can you see many of the 11.3 million jumping ship to a left wing ultra liberal labour party.....

That's why we vote in MPs. Personally, I'm happy that the assisted dying bill was defeated. MPs take note of the feedback from their constituents, and vote accordingly. This was a free vote, ie no party whips. Each could vote according to their conscience. Sometimes we agree with the way Parliament votes, other times we don't. That's parliamentary democracy.

All socialists are delusional, they are all full of ideology about this that and the other but neglect to consider one thing, it all costs money. The only thing socialists are good at is spending other peoples money.

On the plus side Corbyn has said in the past he wants out of the EU. Now lets see if he sticks with his principles and supports a Leave vote.

I think Corby will prove to be a 'different' style of politician; although I'm not too sure whether his politics are for me!

Interesting times ahead and I'll reserve judgement

why can't this country get a left leaning leader that has a sensible immigration policy? if you want any restrictions on who we can accept its UKIP or no-one.

mass unskilled immigration decimates the working class that corbyn is supposedly standing up for. i agree with some of his sentiments but cannot vote for him.

His politics are opposite to the views I subscribe to in the most part but I am glad he is leader, labour needs to provide an alternative. Since 1997 they've been Tories in red ties.

Labour lost their connection with the union base 20 years ago. I can't think of any high ranking labour MP that came through the union ranks and they have lost their working class values.

labours career political elite will make life difficult for Corbyn to make any real impact, it will appear a bit of a circus and i seriously doubt he will be the leader in 4.5 years time.

I just read his Wiki page and genuinely agree with 80% of what he stands for, principles are fine, but get sullied with governing and the great British public will need to work out which ones he will ditch.

Remembering this is a football forum i guess he is like Ole. Love what he stood for, but it was taking us down the shitter !!!!!

Bit more complicated than that tbh mate.

Corbyn is of the opinion that recent British military action in places like Iraq and Libya has only made matters worse. More terrorists, more radicals and ultimately more refugees. His argument is that if we launch airstrikes in Syria it will only make all of the above much worse, which is difficult to argue with.

He believes that we should starve ISIS of funds and provide intelligence and military training to other Middle East countries fighting ISIS as that way they will be defeated by fellow Arabs/Muslim countries and not the 'imperial' west. Thus breaking the bloody cycle and lessening the risk to Brits at home and abroad.

I wish we would just keep our noses out of these wars.
