Sky Bet Championship side Sheffield Wednesday are considering a loan move for Chelsea midfielder John Swift, a club insider from the Owls has informed Football League World.

20-year old Swift has previously had loan spells with Rotherham United and Swindon Town, with mixed success. He joined Steve Evans’ side last August on a season-long loan deal but played just four times for the Millers and both sides agree to cut the deal short in November.
However, that January saw the England under-20 international drop down to League One with promotion chasing Swindon Town and he featured 20 times, scoring twice, as Mark Cooper’s side just missed out on promotion to the Championship.
Sheffield Wednesday boss Carlos Carvalhal has a number of options in midfield but clearly feels that his side need some depth as he prepares his side for a promotion charge this season.
