Ive said this on many occasions judge a manager after at least 10-12 games in

We've made a good start to the season
I decided to make my judgement at the end of December to allow for injuries etc
I would expect us to be in the top six by then
If we are not then questions have to be asked on whether Russell Slade is the manager to get us back to the premier league
There's no doubt that Paul Trollope has had a big influence in the improved performances this season
The squad is certainly good enough to be up there with the leaders

you can bet your bottom dollar that if we had a crap start 99% of fans would be judging him! in the real world, managers are judged after about 6 games, as what often happens is that a poor start leads to a poor season as the team quickly loses confidence.

But now he has had a full summer etc etc and it's a fresh start

That's fair, I would always judge after around a dozen games as the start of the season a win can take you from the bottom of the table towards the top so hard to get a fair gage of where you are likely to be

If we had lost first 3 games he would be judged after 3 games, yet when doing well he's judged over a longer period. Funny game hey

If we had lost first 3 games he would be judged after 3 games, yet when doing well he's judged over a longer period. Funny game hey

of course. they were the same last season, some said they'd judge him after 10 games, when that milestone was passed with the team doing well, it then changed to 10 league games they should've just been honest and said they were waiting for slade to fail.
