Will Manga be in the side or will we be unchanged? Whatever the selection - which will be difficult for Slade and a true test of his management - surely he cannot leave out Connolly again? I never thought I would say this but I would pick Morrisson - although I don't rate him - because I believe an undefeated side should not be changed as it sends out the wrong messages and makes everyone in the squad fight even harder for the shirt. So for Saturday:
Peltier Connolly Morrison Malone

Fabio Manga Morrison Malone. Although Peltier is his lovechild so I see Malone coming back in at LB now

Considering Morrison has been at fault for every goal we've conceded so far this season apart from Moore's blunder, I think it's a no brainer to drop Morrison and bring Manga in:
Losing Clint Hill twice from corners at QPR, leading to goals.
Losing Grant Hanley on the back post for Blackburn's equaliser.
Ball watching and allowing Antonio to drift the wrong side of him to run through and score away to Forest.
How many more goals will Sean Morrison cost us with his ball watching/lack of concentration/failure to mark?
Also, having 2 attacking full backs is suicidal with a 4-4-2 formation. Peltier is probably our most defensively solid full back, but is the new scapegoat at the moment as he doesn't offer quite as much as Malone or Fabio going forward. Fabio deserves to keep his place, so my back 4 would be:
Fabio, Connolly, Manga, Peltier
Very harsh on Malone, but no defender apart from Morrison has done anything wrong to deserve to be dropped.

Who gave away the needless corner in the first place for Clint Hill? Peltier. Why is Connolly not marking anyone and leaving Morrison with two men for Hanley's goal? Why is Peltier not marking Antonio?

I think Morrison is a poor defender, thought this last year aswell. Chips in with a few goals but i would go with Connolly and Manga everytime with Fabio and Malone either side

You pick your best players.
Manga must return but unfortunately, I think it will be for Connolly.

Drop Morrison,he's a liability.

Fabio to right back, Manga for Morrison, Connolly and Malone for me
Wed Sep 09, 2015 11:01 am
Morrison and Manga is the best combination.
Connolly Morrison Manga Malone for me (having Connolly at RB worked well in the promotion season)

I've watched Peltier very closeley and I don't rate him at all. He is an average defender and offers nothing when he does go forward. I have seen him in advanced positions several times with ball at feet 1 on 1 and he is frightened to take the defender, instead on just looks for the pass... to win games in this league you need more than that. I disagree with not having 2 fullbacks that can attack like someone was saying on here, I think he has been playing too much Football Manager. Our best back 4 is Malone, Manga, Morrison and Fabio. Not much between Connolly and Morrison but the later is better in the air and chips in with goals.

In the modern game fullback has become one of the most important positions to get right, they have to be able to get forward at pace. One of the reasons 442 as a system is limited and out of date
Wed Sep 09, 2015 11:41 am
peltier has done nothing wrong and will keep his place.
Wed Sep 09, 2015 11:56 am
He likes Morrison because hes our strongest player in the air, neither Manga or Connolly are that tall. I think he'll go with Manga and Morrison. Peltier is garenteed to start. Big question for me is who will he pick at lb fabio or malone
Wed Sep 09, 2015 3:08 pm
He'll keep a winning team. Manga won't get picked till we lose a couple of times. Pity, as he is total class.

Peltier did needlessly give the corner away, but you still have to defend the corner! Unfortunately, Morrison couldn't defend the corner to stop Clint Hill - twice.
There were 2 Cardiff players and 2 Blackburn players on the back post. Unfortunately, the player Sean Morrison was clearly supposed to be marking at the back post was Grant Hanley and Hanley managed to get away from him to score.
Peltier wasn't marking Antonio because Antonio pushed on into a striker position. Sean Morrison was picking Antonio up, then ball watched, then allowed Antonio to get the wrong side of him to run through onto the flick on to score.
Seriously, watch the goals we have conceded again, watch how we have set ourselves up to defend, watch what positions the opposition players and our players take up and watch who's supposed to be marking who. Guaranteed, the player Sean Morrison is supposed to be marking manages to get free to score every time.

I agree don't change a winning team.

Manga needs to play, I would drop Morrison.
Wed Sep 09, 2015 8:24 pm
I would drop Morrison for Manga but agree with the theory of keeping a winning team together so I would start with Peltier, Morrison, Connolly and Fabio which is the back 4 that started the last 2 games. Don't forget Malone was left out against Wolves due to a virus he picked up.

You misunderstand me mate. I'm saying you pick your best team. That means Manga has to come next game and play.

Manga has just played for Gabon in Africa I would be surprised if Slade risked him on Saturday
Wed Sep 09, 2015 9:32 pm
Would love for Manga to play but don't want to risk him getting injured! On the bench this Saturday for me but straight into the starting XI when fully fit!
