Unbeaten in group

Qualified with three games to spare

Know how to polish off poor teams and get the results

Don't duck friendliest to improve world rankings

Looking forward to away trips to Spain in November and Germany in March

Wonder who wales will play ?

Struggle to fill their stadium for important qualifiers.

players picking and chosing what games to play because they're too tired.

They are a decent team, plenty of strength and depth, the way these qualifiers have gone, I hate to say it, but this is probably thier best chance of winning a tournament for a long time, although Germany seem to be finally getting their act together, I think England are in with a real good shout next summer. Fuk knows what's up with there fans at home mind, they don't seem interested, different expectations from us I suppose, I don't think that new Wembley helps either, lovely looking stadium but a bit to corporate perhaps

Re: watching england

I thought it was an unbelievably bias commentary by ITV. Clive Tyldesley and Glenn Hoddle not once gave the SwItzerland team any praise and I thought the Swiss looked the better side for long periods, playing some neat football. They also failed to admit that it was not a penalty and that Chamberlain should have had a red card for trying to kick the player's head off his shoulders.
I hate it when Tyldesley screeches out the England player's name when they score because I have to clean up the vomit from my TV screen.

Re: watching england

Half time they gave Switzerland full credit in fairness

Play badly win games that's the difference in qualifying - hope Wales do qualify but let's hope they not missed the opportunity

Ingerland supporters always say they have a great chance in every tournament, remember the Golden Generation with the Chelsea mafia who won nothing (Lampard,Cole,Terry)Bookies over the last 50 yrs have made a mint with the general public constantly betting on them to win tournaments.

Re: watching england

Wed Sep 09, 2015 9:47 am

England have to play "bigger" countries in friendlies for financial reasons,to help cover costs of a stadium they cannot fill.

In qualifiers the games are always so easy that any country in the top 50 would qualify thorugh the group.
That is why they only normally reach their seeded position of the quarter finals. This is teh first time they play a decent team, and then get knocked out.
Rooney fantastic goal scorer against minor countries, and then a lot seem to be penalties.
ONE goal in a real competition in his life, yet Englands top scorer?

Re: watching england

At the moment if England and Wales played, I think Wales would win.

However, and my friend made this good counterpoint, if they played 100 times, England would probably win at least 70-75% of the games. Wales are on form, but complacency is a big enemy in football, especially when there's a reliance on key players like Bale in our case.
