RIP Gary❤️
Hell of a player and an even better manager , without him god knows where Welsh football would be - He started something and transformed the Welsh national side
When Wales qualify , it'll be for Gary

No doubt he did something amazing with this team and laid the groundwork for them to be where they are today. Brilliant manager, terrible loss. RIP.

A welsh legend most certainly.
But without wishing to rock the boat, i am amazed at how many say he was a better manager than a player. He was a sublime midfielder for club and country that knew where the net was, one of the Premier Leagues home grown finest on his day.
But as a manager he was ordinany at best, he may have gone on to be a good manager but he didnt anywhere near prove it in reality. He was awful at Sheff United and took them to the bottom of the league until Wales came and took him on as our usual cheap option. He started off awfully as Wales manager too, and then when the group was decided we won a few dead rubbers and friendlies, moving our ranking up. Thats what people chose to remember.
I have massive respect for Gary, he is one of my all time favourite Wales players and will always have fond memories of his playing days and thats how I will choose to remember him, not for a largely unsuccessful managerial career.

He was an outstanding player, when I think of Speed it's him with those bullet headers and work ethic second to none

respect from queens park rangers and an englishman ,your young life has been lost
46 years is a terrible cost
you taught us english a few things about life
you leave behind a young distraught wife
god bles you gary may you rest in peace and drift across the welsh coutryside on a magical cloud and get cardiff city back in the prem where they belong
currently in the play off zone so could be a fabulous day at wembley for 40 thousand deliriously exited welsh
