A good airport is key to a good local economy which keeps each and everyone of us in work

Iv'e said this for years, they need to shrink down one of the airports so that it only does domestic flights and maybe a few to Ireland and France. Then they need to expand the other airport and make it one of the biggest in the country to serve the West of England, the south west and Wales.

So pointless to have to international airports in such close proximity when the population of the area does not warrant such service.

And now Exeter is on the raise too. Is Exeter closer to Bristol then Cardiff ?

so what are they expanding the runway? :laughing6: bristol cannot be truly international as cannot directly go to usa ect ect unless plane half full, the runway is not long enough. suppose they can knock down the couple of villages in way and extend it?

Cardiff should use the fact it has a big enough run way for transatlantic flights, it's also the most westerly airport so why can't you fly to New York, Miami, Tampa etc....if the prices were competitive then people wouldn't bother travelling all the way to gatwick which lets face it, is a nightmare trip for almost anyone.

the reason we dont use it for usa routes is simply down to wag not having the balls to go out and get the routes , they are to scared to upset Europe and bristol! plus fact they wont subsidise route's but will do so for the mickey mouse route to angelsey, :o
can fly Mexico later in year non stop
