MY VIEW OF TODAY ' STILL SOME WORK TO BE DONE/BUT '

Full time - Wales 0-0 Israel

Attendance today 32,653 including 200 Israel fans.

We're one step closer but still some work to be done.

Let's look at the positives, though. It's still another point in Group B, we're still top and going strong.

We've now not conceded a goal in 504 minutes of football.

Our defence was magnificent once again very reliable as always.

FIRST HALF :ayatollah:

Wales had 65% possession in the first half, with Israel not even managing a shot on goal.

That gives you an idea of how things went in the first 45 minutes at the Cardiff City Stadium.

Half time: Wales 0 - 0 Israel

So that’s the first half in the bag.

Wales looked relaxed and were being put under very little pressure by the visitors.

However, despite a fast start, Chris Coleman’s men have were unable to break down the visitors who were sitting very deep.

Aaron Ramsey was running the show from midfield.

SECOND HALF :ayatollah:

As the Second Half started Wales continued with good possession and had a few more decent chances including Gareth Bale coming close from just outside the box.

Israel continued sitting very deep but did have one good chance but Hennessy tipped the ball over the Goal, a part from that they didn't cause any danger going forward.

Simon Church scored in the dying moments of the game but was disallowed for offside.

Now the nation faces a nervous wait for news from Nicosia, a draw or win for Cyprus against Belgium still enough to confirm Wales' place in France. That game kicks off at 7.45pm

Our fans were magnificent once again today fair play to them all

“We are top of the league”, they roared, giving Bale and Co a standing ovation for the sterling 90 minute performance they had just provided.

Enjoyed today and hopefully Coleman will learn a few lessons. Better teams will use tactics to wear Wales down and catch us on the break. I hope that Coleman realises how important tactics will be when playing more experienced teams - and by that I mean knowing when to change players as well as changing our approach.
Hope this post doesn't sound negative. Very proud of Wales tonight.

I gotta say it was very moving hearing how clearly Mae Hen Wlad Fy Nhadau was coming out on the radio (was driving home from london), seemed like an incredible atmosphere and great that fans of all clubs came together to support the nation.

Although the 0-0 result was disappointing considering we won 3-0 out there, the fact we dominated the game from start to finish against a decent Israel team shows how far we have come. This was without Joe Allan and Joe Ledley playing as well.

If those two played, we probably would have won, and we definitely would have won if the officials had done their job properly and gave us the penalty for their blatant hand ball.

If we had scored one goal, Israel would have taken more chances and I think we would have gone on to win the game comfortably, but it wasn't to be. But we can take a lot of optimism from dominating a team like Israel home and away and similar performances in our remaining 2 games should be more than good enough to get us through.
