What happened to tan wants out and stars to be sold

Tue Sep 01, 2015 5:12 pm

I think this summer has proved that Cardiff mean business this year ,keeping our stars is just as important than buying new players. If tan really wanted out asap as some on here said surly he would of taken the Marshall money and money off wolves for Mason ?

The very fact that Cardiff City were able to hold on to their stars should be a sign that Vincent Tan has still got our great club at the fore front of his plans. Alright he has made mistakes like the colour of the squad shirts but at the end of the day he is only human. I have the utmost respect for the man. Without Tan there would be no Cardiff City fc! :bluescarf:

A fire sale and club destabilisation could have had a serious impact on our season and our support at the stadium.

A very unattractive club is impossible to get rid off.

He s a businessman after all

Club either needs to be stable to sell or in premier to profit.

Yes, there were many on here saying that bruno, jones and marshall were certainties to leave by the end of the window and tan would sell anything which wasn't nailed down.

He said we would try again, but stick to our budget - and that's what we appear to be doing.
If we miss out then the parachute money will drop and next summer we will most likely have to make a few cuts.

Myself I'm pleased and relieved we've kept most of our best players.

Tan could have made £15-£20m by selling Mason, Marshall, Manga , Jones and Noone.

And cut the wage bill by £6-£8m per year.

We would have no chance of going up, but still ok.

So well done to him.
Let's hope they don't all leave for peanuts in the next 2 years !

Even more evidence which once again proves that forever blues claims and information is false.

I have no doubt that Annis gets told this by his source and doesn't make it up but maybe his source is wrong and is telling him what he wants to hear

Wez, Tan wants out,I stand by that.
As to Mason, City never received a £4mill bid

There were NO proper bids for City players other than Marshall a fact.

I am more than happy we held on to Marshall,Jones etc :ayatollah: :ayatollah:

I wouldn't be surprised if he does 'want out' , however it makes no sense to asset strip.
A more likely strategy would be to try to get the team back in the prem, only this time by slowly building a team with sensible investing and not spending silly money.

We should all be pleased with that.

And if we go up he'll get a very good price and most of his money back.

Worth noting player values have increased again in the last 12 months.

Silly money.

The value of our squad has risen by £10m IMHO in the last 6 months with little justification, just the fact that there is the chance of a fortune for any team which can go up.

With the riches of the Prem I reckon Tan could - if he wrote the debt off get a decent sum for this club in the prem, getting back most of what he put in.

I find it strange why someone who has obviously caught the footballing bug and is buying up clubs left right and centre would want to sell a decent British club that's only a good season away from the premier league and the riches and prestige that comes with it (in not saying he doesn't want to sell up) just seems a strange decision.........unless he has his sites set on another club in the English pyramid. Can't see why he would want away from British football though

If we had received a bid of £5m for Marshall he would not be here.

If we had received a bid for Jones with someone offering to match his wages he would have gone.

It is not because Tan did not want them gone but because we did not receive the right bid.

Totally agree. Tan's plan is to exit after the parachutes, if he can flog the club. He has cocked up so much, with the signing of dud players and the red stand....Not to mention the commercial disaster of turning RED. If the club are more economically viable that makes it easier to flog. His interests are elsewhere, where he's worshipped. If the crisis in Malaysia continues, then his assets could come under threat. He is a big supporter of the present, corrupt government.

I was one of those who honestly believed this is what tan would do. Well he proved me wrong and I am man enough to admit it. He seems to be here for the long haul and wants to stay committed after the initial investment. Credit where its due and I will hold my hands up and say I was wrong. In life sometimes you are wrong and that is the way it goes. Let's just hope now his faith in Slade is what takes us up and if it does then you can fault the guy. He didn't jump ship in the face of adversity and stuck at it, just like a fan would.

If we didn't recieve no more bids how come Doyle ,Healy went out on loan ,clubs definitely contacted Cardiff about players but Cardiff said they are not for sale which in previous Windows they might not of
