Sign a quality midfielder and make a statement of intent

If Slade brings in a quality midfielder to add strength in depth to the side it will make a real statement of intent. This midfielder could be the difference between a lot of people not believing and believing we actually have what it takes to go up, over a long season. I think Slade needs to push the boat our to bag Nolan or someone of his calibre. Even if we only make the playoffs he is the type of player who can make them hell for the opposition as he turns up for big games. We need a player like this.

Agreed, but there's marquee signings that you hope will turn out good and then there's marquee signings who have a lot of proven experience, have done it at this level before and who has captained sides above our calibre and done a great job in the process. Someone like Nolan for me is the difference between promotion and not winning promotion. Bring him in and you further galvanise the squad, instil a greater sense of belief and you have that spirit roaring through the side just like Warnock did at QPR. We have the talented players who can win us matches in Ameobi, Noone, Whittingham, Jones, etc. and now we just need to solidify that with efficient players who do their job well.

nonsense. We are spending within our budget and thankfully the management are now all working off this same hymn sheet. The day people stop fantasising about top quality players and have a look at our new business model the better.

The management, and Tan have done a great deal of stopping us throwing stupid £ away. Its not as if we are getting 27,000 in every week to watch and justify is it????
