West Brom are poised to announce the signing of Man Utd keeper Anders Lindegaard this afternoon.
That will put an end to their pursuit of David Marshall.
If Marshall had gone to West Brom, City had a 'ready made replacement' for the Scotland Number One from a top Premier League club.
I don't know if you can call Man Utd a top Premier League club anymore, it seems any old village side are beating them these days

but Lindegaard was the keeper City would have brought in had a deal for Marshall materialised.
Just over 30 hours to go before the window closes, hopefully City will hold on to Marshall.

Lindegaard would've been a fantastic signing

but it looks like we are keeping Marshall and I am delighted with that too

Seems like we would have been on a win, win with this situation.
I'm now wondering if I would have been happier with the cash in the bank for Marshall and Lindegaard between the posts.

When Foster is fit he'll be number one anyway. Going to West Brom not the best bet for Marsh. Staying with us and getting promotion this season a lot better!

Hmmmm - great transfer if he had gone

Not sure he would have dropped down a division to play for us, and he was probably on a bit of wage at United.

He has gone on a free so Pulis done good business there.

Marshall has the bluebirds in his heart and the best outcome would be he stays

Great news for us

sorry but it's nuts not cashing in on Marshall AGAIN!!! It's the championship not the premier league and you can easily get a keeper good enough for this league for pennies!!! No wonder the club are fucked financially when they don't accept big money bids

You've probably not seen him for a few years but he's our backbone and I'm over the moon Marsy is staying.

Tan doesn't 'have' to sell, but he has chosen to do so where players either have 'value' or can be 'replaced ' by others who can 'do a job'
Marshall is exceptional in The Championship and maybe, just maybe he may be worth far far more by keeping him than letting him go. We certainly won't get 'better' and what we currently have behind him is simply not at the same level!
Don't expect you to understand that, but then again you're not a City fan so your opinion on this matter counts for little, fella!

People talk on here like it's money in their own bank
I personally am very pleased we're keeping Marshall. Loyal player.

Marshall made 2 point blank saves Saturday and we won 2-1. Moore cost us 2 points with his blunder against Fulham. I rate Moore and think he will become a good keeper in the future; but for now, keeping Marshall is worth a dozen extra points. I'm delighted he's staying.

Exactly.
The debt is coming down but there must be a balance to keep our best players especially if the aim is promotion.
This guy is not even a fan from what I've heard just a shit stirrer. You can tell that from his posts.

I don't understand why anyone would be glad to see Marshall gone.. He's consistently been our best player in the last few seasons... Folk were rating him in double figure millions while in the Premier.
If United rated Lindegard why would you off load him on a free

Not good enough for Man Utd to put in front of Romero, who looks iffy to me. I think I'd rather keep Marshall thanks.
