Mon Aug 31, 2015 9:53 am

Crystal Palace are set for a deadline-day exodus as Alan Pardew bids to balance the books, writes Darren Witcoop for the Sunday People.

Palace need to slash their bloated squad, with Adrian Mariappa, Jonny Williams, Adlene Guedioura, Barry Bannan, Zeki Fryers and Paddy McCarthy all available.

Pardew will also listen to offers for Joe Ledley, with West Brom and old club Cardiff keen on the Wales outcast.

Two of strikers Glenn Murray, Dwight Gayle and Fraizer Campbell are likely to move on.

Fraizer Campbell of Crystal Palace celebrates scoring their first goal with Dwight Gayle and Joe LedleyTrio: Campbell. Gayle and Ledley could all move on

Goalkeeper Wayne Hennessey could also be on his way, with first-choice Julian Speroni close to recovering from a finger injury.

Palace have no problem meeting the home-grown criteria for the 25-man Premier League squad and now need to slash numbers after a heavy outlay.

Eagles boss Pardew must cut back after shelling out over £50million on new players since the start of the year.

But wouldn't help to balance the books. It's not a lack of ambition what we are doing now.

Would love a few of them but the 'too many' players situation may become an issue again and team moral may slip. Would be fine if we got rid of a few which was always the plan and a very good plan it has been despite the loss of money on paid up contracts.

I don't think we need any more signings we are pretty much set with what we have got. :thumbright: :sladein: :ayatollah:

If we signed those three I think we would be candidates for the top two. Realistically though it's not going to happen. :bluescarf:

Out of that list, if we can offload Doyle and replace him with Campbell on loan plus bring in Guedioura, I would be happy with that, although my top target from Palace would be Jedinak.

Spoke to Declan John last night in Maddisons and were talking about how it sucks he is the only Welsh lad in the squad! Would take Joe Ledley back any day of the week, been a consistently decent player his entire career! :ayatollah:

Although we have many strikers, I'd like to see Glenn Murray in our team! Not the greatest technically but he gets goals! :thumbright:

Yeah I don't think we'd ever get all three, but any one of them would be amazing!

Not one of them will join Cardiff.
Mark my words.

There will be an issue with wages. It's not just can the club afford it, but what about divisions in the dressing room?

The team is the main consideration, not a couple of 'names'. Could be really disastrous.
