Silly money.

I think maybe it's best to look abroad for strikers now.
Dutch league perhaps. Or France, Spain, Portugal.
Prices quoted over here are ridiculous.

Hes not worth a penny over 5 million one good season amazing ability but doesn't have the conditioning or fitness to be a top top top player.

good striker who has moments of magic but not enough to be a bankable commodity on his own

My god, He is so average these days, Can't believe Fulham payed 11m, Now SW offering 10m!?

Damn right, you are 100% right. Brighton have just signed Elvis Manu for £1.5m from the Dutch league. He is a current Dutch Under 21 player and plays as a striker, although he can play on the wing too. He will definitely score goals in this division. Yes, a lot of the foreign players are gambles, but they are gambles worth taking. Especially as the transfer fees for foreigner players are a hell of a lot lower than they are for British players and/or British based foreign players. So, they represent better value for money.

Bloooooobirds.

If the £10m bid is true then i think it's bloody stupid money for a player who is no more than average in my opinion.

Great example.
I don't want to over generalise, but in Holland they are coached well and can normally speak excellent English.
They also are used to similar weather and playing conditions.

All this helps.

Brighton seem to have recruited intelligently, so maybe we shouldn't be surprised at their good start

This is why we recruit abroad.

Tomer Hemed, £600k

Why?, They paid £11m for him. Would you sell your house for less than you bought it far?

Because they'll never get a better offer for him again. When he played for us he was good, but nowhere £11m good. have you ever owned a house sonny, of course people have sold for less than they've bought or didn't the recession reach Brighton. :laughing5:

Average? Fulham fans rate him very highly and are happy with the amount they paid for him, he was their best player last season by some distance. He many not score as much as he use to but he's heavily involved in their play and I think he was in double figures for assists last season, as well as goals.

They would be f***ed without him, why would they want to let their best player go for less than what they paid for him when he's only proved him self further? I don't think you realise how important he is to them, they would have easily got relegated without him last season.

Yes if you had massively overpaid for it in the first place. It's called cutting your losses.

Another house, just as good if not better but for a whole lot less money.

Manu can play on either wings as well as striker and at £1.5m is cheap considering Blackburn want £5m for Marshall. We offered £3m but got turned down.

Derby offered £2.5m for Stephens and Fulham offered £2.5m for Dunk. £10m each plus sell ons.
