WBA thought they had struck up a deal worth up to £5mill,then City asked for £6m.

WBA chairman, Jeremy Peace is getting a bit of his own medicine. He's known for his transfer dealings and always got top dollar for his players.

We are in the driving seat here and in total control of the situation, can always say we have reevaluated the situation and ask for more and if they don't like it then can kiss it.
Do you think Tans decision on selling Marshall might have changed now ? albeit early days it doesn't look impossible to get promotion. I do, he knows realisticly that promotion would allow him an easier exit while recouping his money.

What's confusing? Tan has a price he will accept, no doubt about it despite what he says. But if selling Marshall means the difference between finishing in play offs or not then he might not want to sell. Where as if selling Marshall was the difference between finishing 10th or say 17th what would it matter.

Good on our Club for sticking to our guns.

I thought we'd told West Brom he wasn't for sale and told Marshall that he was going nowhere?
It seems that we have actually told West Brom that he can go provided they pay £6 million!
If they don't want to sell then West Brom should be told he's not for sale at any price, not "You can have him for £6 million".
Nice to see our club continuing to pimp our goalie for the highest price they can screw out of the interested party.

Don't think Tony mean't this in a confusing context. This is basically putting the ball in Tans court.
Tan has a decision to make as you have implied above. Selling Marshall for me means Tan is not willing to gamble.
