A forum for all things Cardiff City

Nottingham Forest manager Dougie Freedman was left to rue a strong goalkeeping display by Cardiff’s David Marshall at The City Ground this afternoon.
Marshall made a number of important saves to help his team to a 2-1 victory.
And Freedman pinpointed Marshall’s performance as one of the reasons for his side’s defeat.
The manager said: “We had enough chances to take something from the game. The difference, in a nutshell, is that they had two very capable strikers that scored both their goals, and their goalkeeper kept them in the match.
“I can’t be too disappointed with the way we’re playing - the spirit and how we’re giving it a go. There were a lot of young players out there learning their trade.
“Overall, of course I’m disappointed with the result but we’ve got to dust ourselves down and make sure, when we do get these chances, we convert them.”
Henri Lansbury was absent today with what the manager confirmed as a minor injury.
Freedman said: “He felt his thigh late yesterday. We felt if we took a risk we could be missing him for three or four weeks. We just couldn’t take the risk.
“He’ll be fine for the next game. It’s nothing serious at all.”

Managers interviews are so boring these days, scared to say what they think because of the media.

At least he didn't blame anyone.
Quite a compliment really to speak highly of strikers and keeper. They were the main reason for victory in the end.
Of course you wouldn't expect him to do an in-depth analysis of the whole team.
Slade must be doing something right, give him his due.
