" LATEST ON CARDIFF CITY STRIKER "

Fri Aug 28, 2015 12:10 am

City have offered Guerra an increased pay off to leave City and call it a day.
Guerra wants a full pay off.
If not sold by or loaned out by 1st September, only a British club can have him on loan till next transfer window.

City apparently have offered a good deal.

So it's a stand off.

This is one messy episode.

This has been going on for too long now. Must be nearly a year now since he last played for the first team?

Needs to be sorted ASAP.

It will be another season before we recover from these costly mistakes.

If we get lucky and do go up well I feel a lot of us are going to be stunned.

Why the hell should he get a full pay off..then by free to earn a new contract with another club..that's like being paid twice!!!

If this is true Guerra is just being completely unreasonable and greedy......you would think his pride and desire to actually play football again would mean he would take a reduced pay off (which no doubt would still be a few hundred thousand pounds)

How do we get ourselves in to these ridiculous situations?

So much for him wanting to play

Money or football ???

Or we could just play him? Crying out for a striker, hes already at Cardiff city....

We need a striker with real pace. Guerra isn't that player and won't be played anyway.

Would you give up a guaranteed wage in the hope of finding another? I wouldn't. At his age and point in his career I certainly don't blame him for asking for every penny.

We gave him the contracted and then didn't play him, he owes us nothing.

I'm with the player on this one.
I imagine he wants to play but his agent can't find him a club by the looks of things. He's under contract so why should he leave with no wage coming in?
The mess is of the clubs doing and he's not being given a chance so good luck to him.

Re: " LATEST ON CARDIFF CITY STRIKER "

Tan signed him people seem to forget that so let tan pay him off or I should say let the club pay him off and tan stick on his total debt owed :laughing6:

Re: " LATEST ON CARDIFF CITY STRIKER "

Fri Aug 28, 2015 8:41 am

club is responsible for his contract so club can do what they like with him? if he is unwilling to compromise over that contract just let him stay in reserves or where ever he is, he's obviously not bothered about playing football as whilst its clubs responsibility to pay contract in full he wants cake and eat it, if thats not case why hasnt be gone to another club? is it because he just wont take pay cut to join another club? it seems money is his motivation regardless of clubs obligation to pay him in full. :old:

The most logical conclusion  I think a bit of diplomacy and dialogue would end this. Guerra is the best striker we have

Agree, I don't blame guerra at all for this, the club have treated him poorly if I was him I'd do exactly the same

Re: " LATEST ON CARDIFF CITY STRIKER "

I know Tan signed Guerra but I seem to remember a lot of fans being in favour at the time.

Any player under contract will sit tight if nothing better comes along. He can name his price as a free agent and take all of the signing on fee too.

This is the club's doing, but not an uncommon situation in today's game.

Some saying he should take a pay cut if he really wants to play. Hmm. So he gets signed by a club that won't play him, yet to help the club out, he should walk away with a reduced fee??? I wouldn't!!

It is expensive I agree and something the club can do without but it will run its course I'm afraid.

I still think he is the best we have by a country mile so would play him tomorrow especially if Kenwyn is injured

just let him rot in the reserves if he wants a full pay off.

sometimes a manager just doesnt want a player that he's inherited and guerra should take the money we've offered and go back to spain.

All well and good playing him but then why play someone who isn't in your plans and who wants to leave?

Last time I remember seeing him was in the league cup game against Bournemouth. Some on here reckon that him and Kimbo were unfairly scapegoated, but he was as useless as the rest of them that night. Whatever. If he's so good, why hasn't anybody come in for him, and offered him the deal he wants?

Because maybe he's asking to much and clubs don't think He's worth it? Hard to think of another reason, maybe that's why he wants full payment because he won't get another cub soon!
Besides wasn't there only 1 club interested in him?

I find it amazing how people just expecting him to take a pay cut to help us out.

He is 33, he was one of La Ligas top scorers when he joined us so I don't think he joined us for anything other than money and who would blame him, its one last pay off before he probably retires.

Would I take a pay cut at his stage in his career, god no.

Would you sit in reserves and just vegetate until contract expires? So its all about Money in essence! Not his fault but at same time not eager to leave is he, we don't see any clubs taking him? may enquire about him but guess demands to high?

If I was a footballer aged 33 yes without a doubt, footballers have a short career so need to make as much as they can while they play. I don't blame him at all for claiming the wage he was offered. He keeps training and has kept himself fit, its the clubs choice not to play him but they then cant expect him to take a wage cut because of it.

Yes I would think his wages are to high, we signed him on a free as one of the top La Liga scorers while in the prem (well offered the contract in the prem). I doubt anyone would want to match that now.

No don't blame him but it's his choice at end of day! But what I don't get is he doesn't look like getting club because of high wages club doesn't want him, so he is not going to get lucrative deal at age of 34 when out of contract is he? So lose out ultimately anyway. :old:

Yet again we piss money away when paying up contracts like guerra . Yet fans still pay full whack for tickets. 20 is plenty and 1 adult and child in family stand should be 250 300.

Greedy tw*t what benefit would we achieve by paying him in full so he can ears another fortune somewhere else

He's not being greedy though is he, he's entitled to the money he's on in his contract would you be happy accepting less money than you're entitled to?I know I wouldn't the club have treated him like shit since the Bournemouth cup game yes he was poor that night but so were the rest of the team.
If the club mucked me about I wouldn't do them any favours by taking less money to help them out
