Why Gabriel Tamas came to us

Thu Aug 27, 2015 9:37 pm

Just watched his interview on In the City on the Player and he said that it was our new style of play that made him want to be here. :D :thumbright: :sladein: :ayatollah:

How naive are you? Our new style of play?

What we try to pass to our own players rather than kick the ball up the field as far as we can? Bless me! How revolutionary is that? We will have coaches from all over the globe visiting the Cardiff City Stadium to witness Russell's total football revolution.

I have been a season ticket holder for the last eighteen years young man. I saw my first game at Ninian Park in 1968!

The fotbal,I witnessed under Slade last year was without the most boring and uninspiring I have witnessed for many years. Any improvement on that is to none welcomed.

The game against Wolves was the best performance I have witnessed for some time. We still created very few clear cut chances, we then lost away at MK Dons.

I am not naive, I want to see evidence of sustained improvement, more creativity, more pace to our game, more attacking threat and improved assurance in our defensive performance before celebrating our proclaimed improvement in style.

I have seen too many false dawns to get carried away pup!

Malky's anti football was far worse than Slade's. More effective, but terrible to watch, post Christman's promotion season was dire.

Are you really telling me that Slade's football last season was better than the side Malky got us promoted with?
At least Malky's side was pragmatic and effective, it got us promoted.

Slade's football, probably cost us 2,000 season ticket holders.

Agree Malkys was terrible and I think Slades real style of football like at Orient is coming through this season last season was a write off for me because of huge changes. :thumbright: :sladein: :ayatollah:

Malky's was more effective, in a weak Championship that given the money Malky had he should have done a lot better in (top scorer got 9 goals) but overall was terrible to watch, especially after Christmas.

Slade started ok, lost Pilkington which effected the balance, then had to lose a ton of the squad, then the team became a lame duck, not going up nor down.

This season he's not been able to freshen the squad up, but has the team playing some ok football and seems to be quite tough to beat. Let's face it the 2-2 draw vs QPR wouldn't have occurred under our previous three managers, Malky would have put ten men behind the ball at 2-0 and defended the 18 yard line.
