' KEVIN NOLAN JUST SAID ON SKY '

Thu Aug 27, 2015 5:41 pm

Kevin Nolan was just talking live on Sky Sports News and said that he believes he can stay in the Premier League, he is fit, 33 years young and has a good pre-season behind him.

He thanked West Ham for the way they have handled the situation over the past 24-48hrs and leaves on good terms, Slavan Bilic told him that he wouldn't be playing as much as Nolan would like too and that's the reason he has moved on.

When asked if there have been talks with any other clubs today and he said there hasn't yet and he has spent the day chilling on his sofa and will speak with his family before making any decision on his next move but expects calls in the next few days.

He'll end up at Bolton or Burnley.

Wouldn't be the first time would take Nolan tho it would toughen up the midfield

Would have been a great signing if we could have got him to come here but what the heck we've still got Whitts lol :bluescarf:

I agree. He will find a premium lge club willing to pay him handsomely. He's still a solid defender and scores goals. Someone will snap him up.

Russell Slade hasn't ruled out, however he's certainly not ruled it in either, a move for Kevin Nolan. In fact he's 'played down' rumours that Nolan will be signing for Cardiff.

Former Bolton and Newcastle midfielder Nolan, heavily linked with the Bluebirds following his West Ham release this week, isn't 'close' to a move to the Cardiff City Stadium regardless as to what reports claim.

At least this is the view of Slade, who said.

'I think Kevin Nolan is a very good player. But there are lots of very good players that have been put our way as possibilities but they have to fit in.'

'They have to fit in with what we're trying to do both financially and from a playing side.'

From a playing point of view, even at 33, there shouldn't be much disputing that Nolan would be a fine signing for Cardiff however you worry about the fact he could 'fit in' on a financial level.

We're looking to reduce the wage bill and Nolan isn't going to come cheap is he!

Slade added, when asked if a move was close.

'Not that I know of.'

One more signing being made ahead of the transfer deadline on Tuesday was something that the boss did admit though, is this Nolan? Only time will tell but it doesn't seem too likely, unless Slade is playing his poker face....
