Midfield Transfer Options

Thu Aug 27, 2015 10:51 am

At the moment we are apparently looking for a midfielder. If we can bring in a decent one on a permanent basis then great. But, if we can't sign a midfielder permanently then I have no worries about us signing one on a season long loan. There are actually some cracking midfielders available for loan at the moment. If we are looking for a creative, goal scoring midfielder then we should look no further than Watford's, Almen Abdi. He is absolutely brilliant at Championship level and he creates and scores goals regularly. Also, if we were to sign him on loan then he should replace Peter Whittingham. Abdi is a terrific set piece taker too, possibly better than Whitts, but definitely more consistent than him. He would be a genuine coup for any side in the Championship. Also, if we wanted to look for a box to box midfielder than creates and scores goals then Nathaniel Chalobah on loan would also be a quality signing. Imagine having Dikagcoi, Ralls and either Abdi or Chalibah as the third central midfielder. I think they would both bring so much more to our midfield, attributes that we are currently lacking in midfield at the moment. If it came down too who I would prefer to sign out of the two. Then if we are after a midfielder that brings more attacking creativity and flair, not to mention a good few number of assists and goals, then it would without doubt be Abdi. However, if we are after a midfielder who would works his socks off, would add energy, would add more aggression and an assist or a goal now and then, then I would choose Chalobah. But, whatever happens in our search for another midfield player, if we are serious about challenging for automatic promotion or even a play-off spot, then we should in the very least, be talking to their clubs and their representatives, to see what type of deal can be done.

I think that if there is a player that the manager likes, but he plays regularly for his side. The manager will see that and automatically think that there is no way that a club would sell their player that plays regular for them and so before we have even made an enquiry about him, we move on to another lesser target. There is no harm in asking, cause, you don't get what you don't ask for.

Id say a RB or striker is more important, don't rate Peltier or Connolly at RB and I don't see him playing Fabio every week.

Midfield options of Dikagcoi, Ralls, WHitts, Gunnar and O'Keefe isn't to bad to be honest.

Upfront we seem to have a lot of average players.

It seems to be the thing to write a 3 page essay to get your point over

Sorry boys, I do tend to rabble on a bit when it comes to my posts. It's my OCD it is, I have to make sure that I explain something in exact detail, it does my head in most times. I have been known to spend 15-20 minutes on one post of about 5 sentences. Cause I have to go over it again and again to make sure it sounds right and to check spelling, etc.

Your post was fine mate. People around here like to be picky and negative. Nice to see a positive and interesting post rather than the usual "Slade is f*cking clueless" sort of shit on nearly every thread. :bluescarf:

I don't think the Murphy rumour was ever serious especially at 4m.

Probably right but when that rumour was flying about we didn't realise we wasn't gna spend a penny, now it's clear we won't spend a penny on players

Insert a few paragraphs in your essay mate, it's so much easier on the eyes and I'm sure more people will read it.
