Cardiff City stars Lee Peltier and Aron Gunnarsson are major doubts for Saturday's Championship clash at Nottingham Forest after suffering injuries on League Cup duty at MK Dons.

Gunnarsson was initially named in the starting 11 but was replaced in the Bluebirds midfield by Joe Ralls moments before kick-off after suffering an injury in the warm-up at Stadium MK.



Then at half-time, Lee Peltier, who has started every Championship game at right back so far this season, sustained an injury while warming up with his fellow substitutes.

Our man Terry Phillips was watching on from the stands at Stadium MK. He said: "Cardiff sub Lee Peltier has suffered an injury.

"He seemed to go over on his ankle during a half-time passing routine. He was treated by one of the club's physios.

Peltier was limping badly as he was helped off. Can't see him going on tonight, could be doubtful at Forest Saturday. Second injury blow

But Peltier shook off the injury and was able to come on in central midfield for extra time in place of Stuart O'Keefe, who also suffered a knock during the match.

Full back Fabio was also given treatment for a calf problem during extra time.
