" MK DONS FANS' VIEW ON TONIGHT "

Tue Aug 25, 2015 9:13 am

I went over to the MK Dons forum and got their opinions ahead of tonight's game, here is the response from a few of them :thumbright:

I think we'll use the game as a chance to give gametime to some fringe players and also some new signings (both free transfers and loans) that are lacking match fitness. I don't think the cup has much more significance to us than that to be honest (that's not a pop at Cardiff - just the reality of what we're focused on this season). Our main goal has to be to avoid immediate relegation. Personally, I think we'll do that, finishing somewhere in mid table. No idea what the score will be because the team won't be anything like the current first choice eleven. I'm just hoping to see signs of progress amongst some of the squad. Good luck for the season ahead (outside of your two league games against us).

We'll play mainly a fringe squad with a few first teamers starting. If it starts to go tits up, we'll bring on a few more first teamers off the bench like we did when we were down to Leyton Orient. Expect Cardiff will play a similar mix, will be a tight game. Not too bothered if we lose as league is obviously priority, but would be nice to get through to the third round in the hope of drawing one of the "big boys". Try the piglets pantry pies and the concrete cow brewery ale while you're here.

Well i'm not expecting many if any of saturdays team to play tomorrow night and now we have a larger squad games like this give a good run out for other players so in my view so are a good thing, i think some of the players that play tomorrow night will feature in the 1st team once up to speed. Hopes for this season? Well personally whilst this may sound negative just staying up will do for me, i'd like to think we will do ok but we defintely need to sort out the team going forwards, it may seem worse this year as last season we were scoring for fun.

Just a bit more info for you and others, dont know if you are coming by coach?, our ground has quite a few food outlets, e.g. mcdonalds, kentucky, nandos + a few others right outside the away end so plenty of choice there to eat or you can take your chance with asda which is the opposite end of the ground, saturdays are ok with food but midweek they have hardly anything left by the time i arrive. As far as i know they are allowing away fans in our bar this season though others may know more than me regarding this, either way there is a bar inside the ground in the away end. You'll find we are a family orientated club so no trouble here as a rule. Have a good trip!

Pretty much concur with the rest, mainly fringe players with possibly McFadzean or Kay partnering Upson at the back. Lewington will possibly be the only other 1st team player that started Saturday's game at Reading. I can see extra time for this game which will be a ball ache for both clubs and make it an early morning arrival back home for your travelling support. Just hope we survive the Championship, staying up would be great and hopefully build on that, but I won't cry my eyes out if we get relegated.......I liked League 1.

Hope there's loads of goals, going for 4-3 home win! Oops forgot we have m no strikers, so 3-1 to Cardiff!

They seem like a nice and reasonable bunch based on those posts alone :P I'm hoping the game will be cracking, with a fair few goals flying around!
