' MANGA/MACHEDA '

Manager Russell Slade has said he's hoping to welcome back Bruno Ecule-Manga and Federico Macheda back to the first team for the Capital One Cup game against MK Dons on Tuesday evening.

With both returning to full training for a week having overcome their injury problems, the gaffer told Wales Online that he was hopeful both would figure in the game and make their first appearances of the year, to help bring on their fitness more ahead of the season ahead.

'I am hopeful both Manga and Macheda will be involved in our cup match. They have been training well and should be ready. The priority is to make sure we have our strongest possible team available for Nottingham Forest away on Saturday, but we still want to progress in the Capital One Cup.'

Having mentioned Nottingham Forest as the focus, clearly there will be some changes to the side, and Slade went on to say that he wants to get more minutes into Matt Kennedy and Craig Noone as well.

'Matty Kennedy and Craig Noone, too, need minutes on the pitch, while we`ll see how Scott Malone is. He was ruled out of the Wolves match by a virus, but it would be good for him to play if he is ready. Malone`s absence gave Fabio the chance to play and he did exceptionally well. The competition for places is encouraging.'

Adding that Fabio has certainly asked him a question after the Wolves performance, but that's what he wants, selection headaches to make sure everybody is on the top of their form.

'He has given me a selection headache and that`s what I want players to do. Noone has given me a problem with his performances every time he has played, but at the same time continuity and team performances have been really solid. We want to momentum going, but it`s also important to manage the group as well and ensure everybody is up to speed and ready to play.'
