" LATEST ON JOE LEDLEY/CCFC "
Spoke to one of City's ex players today, who is best friends with Joe Ledley. I told him about the rumours and media reports of him returning to City.
He said at this present moment NO chance,Joe wants to play the highest level while he still can. He has fond memories of City and still keeps in touch on what happens, but at this present moment it's a def NO.

Not surprised.

Quite possibly that is the case...unfortunately for Joe he's not in the palace team at the moment...
Big year for him at international level coming up he needs to be playing every week

I don't want to sound harsh but I'm glad. We all have different opinions but I don't rate him that much. There's no one special keeping him out of the palace team and he played in a poor Scottish league. I prefer whitts and dika

To be honest I have been surprised at this rumour. He is an established prem player and wondered why he would drop down to a mid table championship club even though it's his hometown club. And also he has international aspirations which would be severely hampered if he came to us.

You can do better than that

So Joe will be here soon

Not surprised by this. He's too good for the Championship, and can't blame him for wanting to stay at the top level. He's 28 now, so has only got a few years left that he will be at his best.
He may have to leave Palace and go to another Premier League club, but I'm sure there's a few who would be happy to have him.
Will be good for Wales if he can continue to play consistently in the Premier League.

What if he's left out of the 25 man squad? He'd HAVE to make a loan move then

Fond memories. Don't make me laugh. Didn't realise you were quite so gullible, Annis. You'll be wanting Routledge back next.

Joe is a good player, but we have another Joe....Ralls, who is very similar and a fair bit younger. Give youth a chance. Hope Kennedy isn't overlooked too much.

I'm not surprised either speak to his dad all the time when he comes to watch the city

He's a bottom quarter prem/top quarter championship player.
Had a great season with Palace.
Palace now setting sights higher.
Good luck to him for trying to hang in there but I'd rather him play than warm a bench in the run up with Wales.
If palace don't want him, a loan could be a good option.

He didn't exactly leave on good terms from memory either.

Not Mark Hudson by any chance was it ??? I know last season Joe's pal Neil Lennon wanted him to join Bolton but Joe defo said NO to the Championship , my guess is Palace having spent big bucks on Cabaye want to offload Joe hence the reason they are not playing him . Keep him injury free then sell on , but I cant see at the mo any other Prem club paying what Palace would want . They wont loan him out to a Prem rival which would then , maybe , leave the door open for a loan move to the City . Unless Celtic fancy a loan move themselves ? We shall see ......

Mixed feelings about Joe, a great player for us but the way he left was not good,
I think palace are setting their standards higher, I think Joe might soon be looking for a loan place anywhere to secure his international spot.
I don't think here is the right place for him or us, we have our own Joe now.

Exactly. We need as many playing at the highest level possible, and that's the Premier League. He's a regular for Wales, and there is no way he'd continue to be so were he to drop down a division. Besides, he's much too good for the Championship.
