FAIR PLAY FOR PALESTINE
BOYCOTT ISRAELI APARTHEID -
KICK ISRAEL OUT OF UEFA AND FIFA
Sunday 6 September, 2 pm
Assembles outside City Hall, Cathays Park
(to march to Cardiff City Stadium)
Wales has drawn Israel in the qualifying round of the 2015/16 UEFA Championships. There is no fair play in Israel, a country which is illegally occupying Palestine. Wales will be playing against a country which routinely prevents Palestinian people from playing football and competing in tournaments, a team which should be kicked out of UEFA and FIFA. The rules of FIFA and UEFA are clear that there should be freedom of movement for all players around the world and no racism in football. But Israel violates both principles with impunity.
● This year Palestine made it through to the 16 finalists in the Asian Cup in Australia despite : Player Sameh Maarabeh not being allowed to travel from the West Bank, Player Haitham Deeb not being allowed leave Israel, Two Palestinian FA officials not being allowed to travel from the West Bank, No Gazan players were able to travel.
● At the September 2014 Philippines Peace Cup Israel prevented six Palestinian players from Gaza from competing, leaving the Palestinian squad with only three reserves.
●Palestinian facilities and stadiums have been bombed and players shot and imprisoned. Palestinian national team player Mahmoud Sarsak was held in an Israeli prison for three years without charge until July 2012. An international campaign for his release included Eric Cantona.
● In 2014 Israeli armed forces invaded the headquarters of the Palestinian Football Association. The Israeli FA did not condemn the raid.
● Racism is common on the terraces with regular chants of “death to Arabs”. The Israeli FA does not exercise due control over its clubs and the racism amongst fans deepens.
Israel imposes apartheid on all aspects of Palestinian life. Just as in apartheid South Africa Israel should be suspended from international sport until it observes international law and respects the human and national rights of Palestinians. Don’t Play Israeli Apartheid

You should not mix sport with politics.
Russia should be banned if so. And the US. And Wales, England and Ireland who play under 'Britain'. And Egypt etc etc

I agree. Besides there are ALWAYS two sides to any conflict and it seems to me that the Israeli side of the argument falls on the wrong side of the Political Correctness line

Sounds like a recipe for trouble
33,000 Wales Fans on the piss 5pm KO and a few hundred loony lefties with Muslims marching for Palestine
look what happened the last time they marched
Tue Aug 25, 2015 4:09 pm
Why not give the them an attendance allowance, free refreshments, and a christmas hamper?
Tue Aug 25, 2015 4:22 pm
Last time they marched there was trouble with 5 Welsh lads getting long jail sentences, whilst only one of the marchers was convicted, this could be a recipe for disaster
http://www.walesonline.co.uk/news/wales ... nt-9842357I have spoken to the police and football club who have said that this pro Palestine march or any pro Israel rally cannot take place within the boundaries of the football stadium, not in the car parks or anywhere inside the boundary fences. They are also going to have extra police and stewards on duty to ensure none of this comes into the stadium itself.
They are looking to clamp down on any booing of the anthems or any political flags and banners inside the stadium, any of which will reflect badly on the FAW after Bosnia was warned for similar incidents in their home match with Israel. We are already on thin ground with UEFA and anything like this or any pitch invasions could really mess it up for us. Hopefully it will all pass by peacefully but my advice would be not to get involved or caught up in it if possible.

This is a clear set-up by the police to get people on bans before France otherwise why would they do it given the fact of what happened before.
Disgraceful actions by the police

Anyone marching for Palastine should f**k off out there and back them up. They're nothing to do with us. f**k them!

I love all the right wing butt hurt in the this thread
Fair play to the organisers of this march showing that wales won't ignore zionist agression from a belligerent apartheid state!
Tue Aug 25, 2015 7:13 pm
I know we've been over this. The Saudis are slaughtering civilians
http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-middle-east-34019475Let's have a march against them.
Or could it be the fact that people don't like Jews. And that arabs are allowed to massacre each other.
If you hate Israel, then you must hate Britain. As we've been a party and sat back through much worse than anything Israel has ever done to the Palestinians.
Need I even bother mentioning Assad, as he gases more civilians.
If you think Israel are the worst in the middle East then I'm afraid you are blind.
Tue Aug 25, 2015 7:14 pm
And this march is on the same day as Cardiff 10k. So I imagine it's going to be pretty busy!.
Tue Aug 25, 2015 7:17 pm
Those israeli players are not their government. They haven't bombed anyone.
I agree. They shouldn't come anywhere near it.

As a Welshman, with our history, and the fact we wouldn't exist as peoples today if it wasn't for our ancestors standing up to land grabbing pillagers, I have to say I find some of the comments in this thread incredibly embarrassing and vulgar. Shame on you for forgetting who you are and what you came from. If it wasn't for the actions of our great ancestors who fought to keep these lands Welsh you'd not be around today as our peoples would have been wiped out. Disgusting comments.

I know I'm being pedantic, but that doesn't even make sense. Strictly speaking, it's the qualifying round of the 2016 European Championships. The finals don't take place in two different years. It's over a month in the middle of 2016.

Fair play to Israel. After WWII they, the majority being Jews, said enough is enough and settled in great numbers in what was called "Palestine". They created a country called Israel and for again felt that they had a place they could call home.
Despite many attacks by various countries when they were created in 1948, they defeated them all.
On the other hand the "Arabs" NEVER had a country called "Palestine" - no organised government, no economic policy, no welfare, nothing. They could not even organise themselves to defeat Israel.
Rather than bleating on about the poor Palestinians we should recognise the "right" of the Israelis to live in peace in a homeland created from very little.
Other countries in the area care more about defeating Israel than offering the Palestinians help (aid/land). Most Arab countries actually have no great love for the Palestinians any way and consider them to be sub standard human (sound familiar?)
I agree that Israel needs to ease up a bit and do to help the Palestinians but it seems that people with an agenda just like to blame them for all the problems in that region

Proper welsh people are ignoring it. Its a Muslim march similar to one in the city centre last year. Hardly a white face there.
