A Majorcan view of yesterday

Sun Aug 23, 2015 8:15 am

Yesterday I spent a very enjoyable afternoon in Santa Ponsa watching the City comfortably do a job in Kenny Jacketts Wolves. Arrived in the hot sunshine late afternoon on the recommendation of several of the message board regulars and went on a quest to find Cheers Bar. Initially I drove passed the watering hole and the wandered around the wrong part of town where there wee throngs of Celtic fans who were literally "full of good spirits" and any other alcohol they could purchase. A quick trip in to a local perfumery to buy some fragrances for my ladies and then off to the pub.

Arrived around 20 mins before the kick off and was met by none other than Annis and Mallo with their lovely families. Annis was on cloud nine having been given a new set of golf clubs in the pub and I'm sure with a little effort he has a good chance of making it on the seniors tour soon. I mistakingly took him for Trooblue, apologies for that :bluescarf: Annis.

Just before the kick off in came Santa Ponsas very own teenage ladies man, Mason and I can now vouch for him genuinely existing and not being a yeti type character. We spoke briefly about Mason starting to overall Annis in the posting count and that his posts are better quality also. :ayatollah:

The game was delayed from starting (on our screens at least) due the landlord and resident local bookie having a big runner at the 6:15 at Kempton. The game then came on the screen and City had the better of the first 40 mins including what looked like a legitimate goal chalked off. The two pints of Cruzcampo then left me needing a Jimmy Riddle and off I went to the boys room, mid flow, bang, one nil to the City and I'd missed it.

Half time came and went and the second half flowed by with Annis, Mallo and the landlord in regular discussions around cashing out their potentially sizeable winnings if City had won. The second goal from Ameobi ensured that and Annis and Mallo left the pub with bulging wallets. Quick mention for the land lady too, did a grand job of supplying us pop corn as well as beer and even a celebratory BLUE gin and tonic.

Next stop the curry house and a quality Madras. Mason and his Aunty Andrea the appeared to order the traditional Saturday curry takeaway. A few minutes later a large table was prepared and in came ForeverBlue, Mallo and family and friends also for a curry. It was here that Annis made a terrible confession, he only watches one TV programme, Corrie. Shameful!!!!!!!

After our curry we headed over to Harry's bar and a couple more G&T's, joined again by Mason and Aunty And together with Masons chum, Will, a ginger Andy Murray. Annis then popped over but sadly it was in the hunt for his iPad, hope you have it this morning mate? From the rise in your message count I suspect you have?

A great afternoon and enjoyable evening had and thanks to Mallo, Annis and the Santa Ponsa Blue for their hospitality.

attendance 7 blue shirts and at least double that in wives, children and friends.

bluebirds :ayatollah: PS photo below proving the existence of young Mason.

Nice to speak to you yesterday too Carl, although I thought we had that 3rd goal as we chatted. Annis I may take a leaf out of your book and reduce my drinking as nursing a sore head today. Sorry about the iPad too. I'm back for the Wales game next so will catch up on the Street gossip then. Have a great rest of your holiday too. Mason, Nia has taken a shine to you :thumbright:
