The fact is everything about this side and club at the moment, in respect to the Championship, is average. This is something the fans need to accept. We have fans saying Slade is a good manager. We have fans saying he needs to go. At times we are reactionist and we generally vent depending on how we feel. That is life. The reality is Slade is average. He is not going to take us up and he is not going to take us down. He is a run of the mill manager who will get us to finish mid table again and our season will fade to a boring conclusion. The problem with this is there is no drama as it is a rather boring long drawn out affair.
The team is average.
Slade is an average manager.
Expenditure at the moment is average.
Attendances are average.
We have 6 points from 12 available. We are not setting the world alight with 9+ from 12. We are not struggling with 3 points or less. That is 50% of points so far and half collected. It is a middle of the ground total collected so far and to be expected for a team that is average with an average manager. The team and manager are doing the job at the 'expectant' level at the moment. If they start to exceed those average expectations then you can cut them some slack and say 'you know what, you proved us wrong'. If they start to underachieve then you can say 'you're just not up to the job, its time to go'. However, at the moment the club is doing just okay.
The club is plodding along just fine at the moment. Slade should be judged later on in the campaign.
