' Cardiff City transfer rumours: Odds tumble on Wales midfielder Joe Ledley returning to the Bluebirds '

Ledley has been linked with a move away from Crystal Palace all summer and he's now just a 4/1 shot to join the Bluebirds this summer.

Bluebirds appear to have increased after the odds tumbled on a return to the Welsh capital for the cultured midfielder.

Crystal Palace ace Ledley, who made more than 250 first team appearances in his time in South Wales, joined the London club from Scottish champions Celtic in 2014.

But with the Eagles splashing the cash this summer – French midfielder Yohan Cabaye a record £12.8m signing – the 28-year-old has found opportunities limited at the start of the new Premier League season.

Ledley has failed to make the bench for either of his side's games so far with speculation rife a move away from Palace is on the cards.

The ex Bluebird, who is a key man for Chris Coleman's Wales, has been linked with a transfer switch all summer.

West Brom, Norwich, Stoke and Bournemouth have all been mentioned in dispatches, despite Ledley previously insisting he'd like to stay with Palace in the Premier League.

struggling for game time in the current campaign, the odds have shortened on Ledley leaving Selhurst Park.

Bluebirds boss Russell Slade would love to add the Fairwater-born product to his squad for the Championship season, bringing him back to a club where he first made his name.

When asked whether they were interested in Ledley earlier this summer, a Cardiff City source told WalesOnline: “It would be great to bring Joe Ledley back, but it’s not the right time because he is doing well at Premier League level with Palace.

“We wish him all the best and will maintain a watching brief.”

That comment from the Bluebirds came back in May but with Cardiff now 4/1 joint favourites to sign the player, it will be interesting to see if there will be any further developments before the transfer window slams shut.

Some clowns on here a few years deemed him not good enough for city, he would be perfect and exactly what we need. Before it's shot down for him leaving cardiff, big deal he did what 99% of us would do and improve his purse strings. It's hard for fans to accept that, but most of us have families to support and it's a job at the end of the day. Would love him back, and he is after all a bluebird

I don't see the point in bringing Ledley in now Ralls has finally broken into the team and playing well. We're after the wrong Palace player, Jedinak is the player we want. Jedinak is a leader with power and a phenomenal engine, he's exactly the battle hardened warrior we need in the middle of the park to take games by the scruff of the neck.

I find this unlikely.

Jedinak is a leader with power and a phenomenal engine, he's exactly the battle hardened warrior we need in the middle of the park to take games by the scruff of the neck.

Ledley is a much better player than Ralls though

Most Palace fans really rate Joe Ledley, very tidy player and we always seem to do better when he plays.

Pardew doesnt seem to rate him but Personally id have him in our side, I think he is a better holding man than James McArthur.

Jedinak is good but he is very slow and cant pass for shit, great away from home as he wins everything in the air.

I dont know if there has been a fall out but it seems strange he doesnt even make the bench.

Careful mate, Santa Ponsa blue put on Facebook a while back that Ledley was linked with city and that because it was reported by wales online it had to be true, got to the point where after a few people explained transfer rumours could be bullshit, he deleted all his posts and then the main post.
