I'm not sure on Hinchcliffe's ranking and how he arrived at that but with better support Mason could be very effective for us.

Quick brain, great runs, but no pace, I really like him, but don't think he will be good enough, and hope I'm wrong ......

5th best player in the Championship? Are they having a laugh? He's probably not even OUR 5th best player

To be fair mate, at 24 he should be the finished product, not showing potential.

If he's premier class he would be there by now

mmm - sort of agree mate, but he has had injuries and probably 'looked after' too much

but he would be the first striker to make it late in life in prem :bluescarf:

Mason is not, and never will be, Premiership class. He struggles to make an impact at Championship level not just with us, ask Bolton fans too.

He may have a career at this level but the days of talking about "potential" are over, he really should be delivering now and I've seen nothing to convince me that is going to happen.

Not necessarily. Look at Gestede. 24 year old for us rubbish. 26 year old for Blackburn scores for fun.

To a point that is right but one key difference. Rudy showed a constant improvement over the time he was with us. Particularly at the end of the promotion season when he was really starting to look a handful.

Mason, unfortunately, looked good initially but has faded away. During Malky's first season he really looked like he had potential but since then he has struggled, either with us or on loan.
