Glenn Murray

Looks to be on the way put of Selhurst and a few clubs will be lining up to get him. I say ship Jones out and use his wages to get this guy, would be a top addition. :ayatollah:

I would say he is better than Jones in my opinion.

Slade had him at Brighton so it could be possible. :thumbright:

Would be a great signing, IMHO!

Would be one of those occasions we might be glad Ali is not on the PA...

Always drove me bonkers at Selhurst Park, hearing their announcer shouting "Glenn who?" and the Stripey Nigels all coming back with "Glenn Murrrrayyy!"

A bit too often when we played them, I'm afraid! :laughing6:

Re: Glenn Murray

Would be a wonderful signing, the type of battle hardened, old fashioned, goalscoring forward who is difficult for opposing centre backs, invaluable to the team but also provides a goal threat. Unfortunately, it seems he's still in Pardew's plans or if Palace do allow him to leave, Bournemouth look keen on him.

Well then that's a massive difference then?
If Kenwyne actually put a bit of effort into his game, he would be a good player!

He also scores a lot more goals than Kenwyne does. He would be a massive improvement on Jones, in my opinion.

Don't think Cardiff would be interested anyway, they don't seem to be looking for a striker, unless of course KWJ does go to Sheffield Wednesday.
Think you boys will do well this year, Cabaye is an excellent signing.

A couple of seasons ago when Palace were last in the Championship, he scored 31 goals. He scored 53 goals in 118 games for Brighton in the Championship. Then he signed for Palace and he has scored 44 goals in 111 games and some of those games have been in the Premiership and the last time that he played regular Championship football, was when he was on loan at Reading last season, where he scored 8 goals in 18 league games. Last season he played 38 league games and scored 15 goals, scoring 8 goals in the Championship and scoring 7 goals in the Premiership. Kenwyne only played in the Championship last season and he scored 12 league goals in 40 league games. That goes to prove that Glenn Murray does score more goals than Kenwyne and I guarantee that Murray would score a lot of goals for us, if we signed him. He also creates a fair share too and he works his bo*locks off. Murray's style of play is similar to Revell, but Murray is a much better all round footballer and he also scores a hell of a lot more goals than Revell does. He can also score goals in the Premiership and this is probably the reason why we wouldn't be able to sign him. Cause there would be a lot of interest from other Premier league teams.

It would be amazing if we could somehow persuade him to join us, but I don't think that he would even come down here for talks, let alone come down here to sign a contract.

he was in a fortunate position of having zaha diving all over the place for him. The amount of goals scored is in no way equal to his goal scoring abilities.

Also, he never played for Brighton in the championship

Re: Glenn Murray

Sorry, you are right about Brighton. But it doesn't matter how Murray scored his goals, they all count. I just personally would prefer Murray to Jones, but you wouldn't.We are just going to have to agree to disagree. However, I respect your opinion and I like the fact that we can have a good debate about something to do with the Club, that we both love. As there are far too many people on here, who as soon as they receive a genuine reply and that person has a different opinion to them, they start getting childish and end up spouting insults and swearing.

Anyway, enjoy the game tomorrow. I'm going for a 3-2 win to us, obviously.
