Wolves Saturday: My View

In my opinion this coming game on Saturday is a big one and will go a long way in proving whether Slade and the lads will be able to push on from last season. As most of us know Wolves had a good first season last year back in the championship and are tipped by many, including myself, to improve on that. They are expected to be fighting right at the top end of the table. If Slade and the boys are serious about top six, Wolves is the test to prove it to us fans.

If we WIN

If on Saturday we get the three points and remain undefeated so far, the three draws so far will look a whole lot better. This win would give the squad a comparison against a top team and show just how well drilled we are, and in my opinion, with just a few addition top six would look a real possibility.

If we LOSE

Well it would be back to square one, the three draws picked up so far would look very poor and prove maybe Slade hasn't really got us as well drilled as hoped. It would prove we'll most probably be a mid-table team again, not having that cutting edge that most top teams do to get into the top six and get out this division.

If we DRAW

That would be four draws from four, not really good, not really bad, just like Slade's team last year. We would be unable to tell whether we've pushed on and still waiting for the three points. Again would most probably outline that we need one or two additions to take us further.

Slade has my full backing at the minute but if we lose on Saturday it may well turn mine and many other heads against what he's doing and prove many correct in saying he hasn't taken us anywhere. Anyway come on Slade, prove them wrong and get the three points Saturday. Big one!!

Honestly if Jones sticks with same side as Blackburn we will get punished, Afobe will tear Morrison & Connolly a new one.

Wolves press high up the pitch and are strong in midfield.

I think they will win 2/3-1, however if Slade tinkers with the side starts Kenwyn or Doyle up top, Noone and Ameobi on the wings then we have a chance.

Still way too early to worry too much about Wolves. If we win all well and good, but it's not the end of the world if we lose. Best see how things have gone after around a dozen games. We are not going to be promoted this season, so as long as we are well clear of the bottom 4, we can hopefully relax and watch some decent football and some exciting matches. For many years playing Championship football was a distant dream for a lot of us, I just hope we can stay here for a while, and perhaps push on from here without incurring massive debts.

Personally I see us as being just as big as Wolves, Derby and Boro, and one of the biggest teams in this league. I'm not happy just sitting round in mid table championship football. This club has a 33,000 seater stadium and can fill it easily, albeit in the Premier League, Id rather push towards the financial gains that come with Premier League football then sitting here gathering dust.
