CITY PLAYER NOT HAPPY?
I've just been told Eion Doyle is not happy at the current moment and has asked to be given a run of games.
Doyle is a very easy going person and very hard working player who gives his all, the very reasons Slade signed him for.
My personal opinion, the perfect player for the lower divisions or for a team challenging to come up from Div 1.
I said this when we signed him.
Do you think he is the right player for us ?

Annis, I think Doyle is a very good goalscorer but not at this level. I would put him in ahead of Revell though

Steve, I agree on both Accounts.
But I also believe both not good enough for a Championship promotion contenders team.

I think a major problem with all of our forwards is they lack the one thing that all defenders fear .....pace.

To be fair, I'm not sure we're at the level of promotion contender at the moment, and the quality of some of our starting team reflects that.
However I also agree, I'd stick Doyle in ahead of Revell easy.

Doyle will get us the goals given a run of games, problem is Slade has his favourites and won't give certain players a chance.
Who can blame Doyle, he was signed to score goals, not be a benchwarmer.
Slade is an absolute disgrace in the way he cherries picks certain players who are under performing.

Absolutely

I'd put him in infront of Mason.
Having said that I agree with those that have said that he, and our other strikers, lack pace and is not someone who looks like he'll score enough at this level.
We've seen very little of him, from what I have seen (and his previous record) I would say he is more of a goal scorer than Mason but I would accept that is based on very little experience of watching him.
I do think he should have been given more opportunity as a sub for Mason who has played every minute of the first 3 league games with the exception of Blackburn when he was substituted on 86 mins ! He was certainly worth a chance in the last 20 mins against Fulham when we just needed a bit more impetus.

How is Slade a disgrace? Doyle knew when he signed that he wouldn't be first choice, what's more, he will be given opportunity's as and when he is needed. We have just had three really tough games and the way we have set up as enabled us to pick up points.
I think you need to realise that the modern game is about the whole squad and these days your judged by that, especially when the club are playing nigh on two games a week.
As for Doyle, If he wasn't happy with being on the bench then that's a good thing not a negative thing as it shows he is eager and hungry.
Better to have players like him than players who just come for the pay packet and disrupt other fringe players of the squad, which we all know happened at the club in previous seasons.

He should be given a chance as he was bought as a goal scorer, did show signs at end season of getting use to champ physicality and pace! Prefer him over ravell.

Slade said at least top this season
Tan and Dalman both said we are going for promotion
Not my words

I think he would do a better job than Ravell, but i want to see noone and jones start a game, to see if they could work.

Allan, I have to agree with you as that's what Slade brought him in for and even though I don't think he's up to this level, he should be given a run

We keep signing players that are looking to play every single game for our bench.
Thu Aug 20, 2015 10:01 am
Can't blame the bloke. A proven goal scorer who is not getting a look in. I would start him alongside Jones up top.
Cannot believe that Slade has stuck with sub standard Ravell and Mason up top.
Thu Aug 20, 2015 10:06 am
Strikers always need to be given a run of games and its only fair that Ravell is given a chance.
Last year LeFondre has his run of games and didn't score hence he is now gone.
Doyle will be given a chance and when he does then he needs to deliver.
Thu Aug 20, 2015 10:06 am
Should be playing, some strikers don't need pace they have the knack of being in the right place at the right time and know where the net is and that's exactly what Doyle is,he showed us this back end of the season bit for some reason slade wants a big man small man combo

I think it's time to try a Jones/Doyle partnership for a couple of games. The Revell/Mason one has not done amazing the first three games

That's why they are with us....
We are not contenders this season.

I was just repeating what everyone has said from our club.
I'm with you,I don't see us at this current moment a promotion outfit.

I actually rate Doyle more highly than Mason. Doyle was improving with every game he played for us and started bagging some goals as the season came to an end. I've said all along that if we persist with 4-4-2 then my preferred striker partnership is Jones and Doyle.
Thu Aug 20, 2015 12:18 pm
I was surprised how slow Mason is. Technically is ok and does read the game well, but his lack of strength and speed don't help him.
He either needs to feed off Jones or be replaced by Ameobi.
Thu Aug 20, 2015 12:50 pm
An odd signing, brought in and not really given a chance, only played when "forced" due to injury.
Thu Aug 20, 2015 12:54 pm
I think Revell and Doyle are our only 442 strikers
Jones is a single man up front trying to tie in the two centre halfs. He isn't the big one of a 2 because he never looks for his partner. He is looking to lay back to an attacking midfileder.
Macheda is a bit like Mason in the sense I can't work out thier best formation. He is stronger and technically better than Mason but boy is he lazy.
I was hoping Ameobi was going to be the real deal because I don't think the others are with our management stuck on 2 up front.

He is a good player I think he can cut it he ended last season in good form and is hardworking and needs a run of games I hope Slade gives him them and play alongside Mason .
Thu Aug 20, 2015 5:43 pm
He may make it in a Championship team but needed to joint one of the weakest teams to have a greater chance of a run of games. We may not rate all of our Stikers but we have quite a few, so it's going to be hard to justify playing him, unless we have a run of injuries.
Still he knew it would be difficult when he signed for us, no point in crying, he is probably earning a small fortune and should dig in work hard and fight for an opportunity, if he's the best in training, he probably plays !!!
If not he can move on meat season with a bigger bank balance...

I think our most likely striker to get 15 league goals plus, but not likely to happen.
