Gutted to have thrown it away BUT

Tue Aug 18, 2015 8:58 pm

Sitting here writing this and it feels like a loss, and it certainly would have been a fantastic victory if we had got a win at Ewood Park, but by the soda of the radio, our second half performance didn't merit it.

We have to learn how to close out games. First 35 minutes we should have been 2-0 up, and then the game would be dead. Nice to see Mason get off the mark, but he has to be the player that gets us 2 when the defence is vulnerable.

Another thing is that City MUST defend set pieces. 3 of the 4 league goals we have conceded this year have been from set pieces, which is an alarming fact.

I know the :sladeout: smilies will be out in force tonight, but what can we do when there is no money available. I will say this, we must start our best players. Noone, Ameobi, Kenwyne and Fabio all on the bench tonight, at least two of them must have started tonight.

However, we are still unbeaten and we can take that into the Wolves game in front of the sky cameras on Saturday evening. It's still early days and they are in a similar position to us, tough start and just finding their feet.

We need another striker and then I really think we can push for the play offs.

Not sure about Wolves being in the same place as us. By the time they come to Cardiff on Saturday they could have more than double our points tally.

How can we close out games when our two best defenders are injured but we are still unbeaten. :thumbright: :sladein:

Morrison cost us £4 million and Connolly has been promoted 4 times, no excuses.

Just because the opposition score doesn't mean we've thrown it away. If you play until the final whistle you will often get what you deserve.

I thought you had been claiming that we have one of the strongest squads in the division. If we have. we should be able to cope with the loss of two players.

The last 2 games we have scored late goals and sadly tonight the late goal went against us!
I see it was another goal from a cross conceded , we have to be stronger in our own box.

3 draws whilst keeping us unbeaten still means 6 points dropped but still onwards we go on to Saturday chasing our first win and a clean sheet. :bluescarf:

The :sladeout: smileys will be out in force tonight because Slade is clueless

Revell in the starting eleven?

No Jones again? Our best striker by far and a player who's near enough on £50.000 a week sat on the bench what a waste!

No Noone in the starting eleven? Ridiculous

Joe Ralls out wide? Should be in midfield his usual more preferred role.

Sorry James :sladeout:

Funny how it's always easy to pick a team after the game is over. How may would have taken a point before KO?
Also, I don't see the relevance what any player is paid in terms of team selection. Otherwise you would just pick the side in order of salary and the top 11 earners would play every game.

Don't like Revell, so I agree with you on that

Kenwyne isn't fit enough to play ninety minutes, and when he did come on he was crap. :o

Noone didn't play because Slade prefers him as a impact player. Look at ALF at Reading, normally used as a sub. Hopefully he starts on Saturday, but who would you take out?

Ralls is on the left because of his brilliant partnership with Malone and he rotates with Whitts. He is allowed freedom to come into the middle.

I predicted we'd get a point as under Slade we seem happier to settle for draws.
